Song Shop: Max Bemis Will Write A Song Just For You This Holiday Season

A few years ago, Max Bemis, singer of Say Anything, announced a new idea he called The Song Shop.

In an effort to combat illegal downloading, the singer attempted to offer limited-time original music for dedicated fans to purchase directly. The result has been impressive, with over 3,000 fans having received original songs from Bemis over the past 4 years.

So how does it work? Well, once the shop officially opens, Max will take a limited number of written requests from fans for brand new original songs. Buyers can purchase an entire song for $150- but there …

Texas In July Stream “Nooses” From ‘Bloodwork’

Not long after metalcore quintet Texas In July streamed their new song, “Sweetest Poison,” the band has once again put out another new song entitled “Nooses,” which premiered over at Metal Injection today.

Notably heavier and more aggressive, it seems as though the band has gone above and beyond their usual recording cycle to produce these new tracks, as so many of its unusual and experimental characteristics bleed right through. TIJ fans can expect a lot more of these nuances from the upcoming record, which is set to be released on September 16 under Equal Vision Records.

DVD REVIEW: We Came As Romans – ‘Present, Future, and Past’

Film: Present, Future, and Past
Starring: We Came As Romans
Genre: Music/Concert

The rise of We Came As Romans from unknown Michigan post-hardcore outfit to international headliners is the very definition of a cinderella story. The group that signed with Equal Vision back in 2009 have grown from boys to men over the last half decade, and in that time recorded three critically-acclaimed albums, each more complex than the one before. Through it all, the members have remained true to themselves and their roots, allowing their experiences and struggles guide the material that creates their future releases. It’s not an …

Texas In July Give You A Reason To Rage With “Sweetest Poison”

Equal Vision Records hard rock outfit Texas In July have released a new song titled “Sweetest Poison” that is one click away from kicking your ass.

This time last year it was unclear whether or not the world would ever hear from Texas In July again. After years together, including multiple releases, frontman Alex Good decided that life on the road was no longer the path for him. The rest of the band took this time to step back and reevaluate their own lives, but they ultimately settled on pushing ahead and recruited J.T. Cavey to help take their sound …

Bane Release Trailer for Final Album, ‘Don’t Wait Up’

Boston hardcore legends Bane released a trailer today for their upcoming album, Don’t Wait Up. The trailer, at least to longtime fans of the band, is very emotional, as they chronicle what it was like putting together their final album before they call it quits. Bane is one of the most influential modern hardcore bands in the scene, and while it’s sad to see them go, the way they are gracefully turning out the lights on their 19-year-old band is extremely respectable, and bands should be taking notes on how to say goodbye.

Don’t Wait Up comes out on …

We Came As Romans Release “Fade Away” Video

Michigan hard rock favorites We Came As Romans have released the official video for their single “Fade Away.”

The second song off We Came As Romans’ recently released album to be given the single treatment, “Fade Away” finds WCAR stretching their common video structure to include more than high-gloss performance footage. This time around the performance is accompanied by a story about waking up those stuck in the various types of arrested development plaguing the current generation of teens and twenty-somethings. Members of WCAR appear floating above the ground, only to come crashing down as they wake. They …

Tallhart Robbed Of Everything In Chicago

Equal Vision Records outfit Tallhart were robbed of clothes, shoes, electronics, and a ton of gear and equipment in Chicago last night. Read a message from the band and feel free to help them out by purchasing something from their online store. Let the tour continue!

Hey everyone. So, we were robbed last night and our window was smashed in. Bullshit, yes. However, we are definitely going to make every date on this tour. (If nothing worse happens, of course). We have enough gear to continue. Also, enough cash/credit cards for repairs.

We Came As Romans Debut “Tracing Back Roots”

Tuesday means new music, and at midnight last night We Came As Romans released one of the heaviest songs of their career.

“Tracing Back Roots” is the lead single and title track off We Came As Romans’ insanely anticipated new album due out July 23 through Equal Vision Records. The song leans heavily on the band’s heavier tendencies, with frontman David Stephens guiding listeners through sizzling riffs and crushing drums with a tale of trying to fill the emptiness one feels inside. In typical WCAR fashion, the song manages to find a silver lining amidst what at first seems like …
