It must be tough trying to develop an alternative rock act these days. With the same dozen or so acts making up every major tour announcement, finding a way to catch a break with curious music fans is nearly impossible. The best most can hope to do is create music so good it makes people want to share it with others, which is exactly what Bentley Park have done with their latest release.
I have no idea exactly how many emails come through the UTG offices pitching bands that sound like My Chemical Romance, A Day To Remember, Pierce The …
The Flaming Lips’ Wayne Coyne Touring Record Stores With Life-Size Chocolate Skulls Holding Debut EP
It’s quite difficult to hear news from The Flaming Lips and be surprised that you’re surprised. Frontman Wayne Coyne is heading out to hit up record stores in America this month for a meet-and-greet where he can sign copies of The Flaming Lips’ ridiculous new release: a chocolate skull containing the reissue of the band’s debut EP.
The 12″ green vinyl will be held inside a “hand-crafted, custom-made… anatomically correct and life-sized” skull made up of “quite a substantial amount of high-quality, gourmet chocolate.” Also inside will be a special Golden Coin that can be used to go to any …

With the release of a brand new EP, Thrillwave, Bay Area born and North Carolina residing artist Matt Futch, better known as Dirty Up, is looking to join this conversation as he flows atop …

Diplo has released a music video for “Revolution,” his collaboration with Faustix & Imanos and Kai off of last year’s Revolution EP. The visuals are rather fitting for the contrasting mixture of emotional vocals and club-ready trap drops as scenes of neon lights flashing across beautiful women and people flying down the road on motorcycles are blended with the sights of a boxer tirelessly training and a lonely individual looking to drink her pain away.
Follow the jump to check out “Revolution” and be sure to check out the Revolution EP here if you slept on it in 2013.…

Artist: Slack Armada
Album: Slack Armada EP
Genre: Ambient, Post-Rock
James Hrabak’s debut effort under the moniker of Slack Armada is a brief foray into the depths of the subconscious. At nearly 23 minutes spanning its 4 tracks, Slack Armada provides you with a soundtrack to lose yourself in. With subtle backing grooves led by ambient and droning layers of synths and various samples, these four songs have everything you need to relax to and even offer a little something outside the realms of relaxation. If you’re a fan, much like Hrabak himself, of Brian Eno, Mogwai, or even My …
