EP STREAM: Weerd Science – ‘Red Light Juliet’

Coheed and Cambria drummer Josh Eppard has released the new EP from his hip-hop side project, Weerd Science.

The EP, entitled Red Light Juliet, features eight new songs from the group and marks the first release from the group since May 2011.

“Please support and share. We can’t do it with out you guys. Get the word out, and bump this awesome album. Best $5 you will ever spend, and it helps us tremendously,” the band posted to Facebook.

EP STREAM: MMX – ‘Child’

Oxford indie rockers, MMX, are currently streaming their EP, Child, in its entirety on their Soundcloud page. You can go listen to it there or after the jump, here on UTG.

Each of the four tracks on Child are massive in scope with ethereal layers, dramatic vocal melodies, and infectious rhythms possibly borrowing some inspirations from bands like Coldplay, Snow Patrol, and M83, but adding a beautiful twist that’s all their own. It’s already on our premeditated “best of” list of this year’s EP efforts and it’ll be hard to beat.

STREAM: Moose Blood – ‘Moving Home’ (EP Stream)

Moose Blood are a band that have started conquering America after taking over the UK in less than a year. They have a split 7″ coming out later this summer from No Sleep Records, but today, AbsolutePunk premiered a stream of their new EP, Moving Home. The album is still available on the band’s international Bandcamp, but no American release date is known as of yet. It could be yours for two GBP, though.

Moose Blood will also be teaming up with Scottish hardcore band, Departures, for a split later on this year. We’ll keep our eyes pealed …

Manchester pop punk band Neck Deep released their second EP, A History of Bad Decisions, today. The album was recently made available to stream in its entirety on Alternative Press. A freshman pop punk band, Neck Deep has received a lot of coverage including recently having been featured on the BBC1 Radio’s Rock Show.

The band also set up a pay-what-you-want download of the album on Music Glue.

D.C. hip-hop rockers, RDGLDGRN released their debut EP, RED GOLD GREEN, yesterday via Fairfax/Republic Recordings. As of now, the entire EP featuring Dave Grohl on drums and a track produced by Pharrell Williams is currently streaming on Entertainment Weekly’s website.

Minshara Auditioning New Drummers, Ex-Drummer Left For Crobot

Pennsylvania natives Minshara are auditioning new drummers. Their old drummer, Tony Kobel, left to join the band Crobot, and remains on amiable terms with the band. The irony here is that Minshara still has a gig lined up in November, but doesn’t officially have a drummer yet. Whether that means they’ll be playing a show without a percussionist or with a temporary replacement, I don’t know.

ALBUM STREAM: Tigers Jaw – ’2008 Summer EP’

Scranton, Pennsylvania based band Tigers Jaw have released an internet stream of their 2008 Summer EP. The appropriately titled release is only three tracks and comes out on Run For Cover Records. It is surprisingly quiet, and more of an acoustic EP than a live album seemingly implied by the title. It’s definitely a must have for fans of the band.

Tigers Jaw currently only have two shows lined up on their schedule: a show in Philadelphia on November 30, and they are opening for The Guru‘s Go Easy album release show at the Space in Hamden, Connecticut …
