Girls Love Beyonce - Drake

STREAM: Drake – “Girls Love Beyonce” (feat. James Fauntleroy)

Drake confused the hell out of me with “Started From The Bottom.” I’m still not sure I like it.

But hey, who am I to judge? I won’t pretend rap is my game. I loved Take Care and everything preceding it. I’ll very likely love everything that follows. His verse on DJ Khaled’s new single “No New Friends” was sick. This song is too.

“Girls Love Beyonce” hits on — yeah, you guessed it — Drake’s love life and its many problems (See: this). The Chorus samples a Destiny’s Child classic, “Say My Name.” Good song is good.

WATCH: Kevin Hart And Drake Face Off (At Paintball)

Comedian Kevin Hart is one of the most popular standups working today. He is currently promoting his forthcoming theatrical special, Let Me Explain, and this morning he released a clip of himself facing off with YMCMB artist Drake in a game of paintball.

As you learn in the video, Hart and Drake have grown to be close in recent years, but that certainly doesn’t stop them from facing off for a little friendly competition. The footage was shot last year near Toronto, and the results of the challenge are sure to entertain fans of both performers. You can view …

Drake Releases “5AM In Toronto” Video

Young Money artist Drake has made good on promises from last month and released his official video for the song “5AM In Toronto.”

The clip, which is the second video from Drake to surface in 2013, finds the young MC reciting his lines while hanging out with friends in parking lots and indoor volleyball courts (seriously). When compared to “Started From The Bottom” there is not much to be said other than that this clip feels a bit lazy. It’s less than seven takes in maybe three locations and a song this powerful deserves far better. “Started From The Bottom” …

REVIEW: Lil Wayne – I Am Not A Human Being Part 2

Artist: Lil Wayne
Album: I Am Not A Human Being Part 2
Label: Young Money

As much as I hate to say it, the quality of Lil Wayne’s music has inarguably become questionable in recent years. When The Carter 3 arrived, Wayne was on top of the world with a record that reflected both his precision as a street-bred lyricist and his ability to craft a pop song with a hook you could not escape. The success that followed that release carried Wayne to a level of stardom few ever find. A rare space where all those contenders you battled …

STREAM: Snoop Lion Recruits Drake And Cori B For “No Guns Allowed”

The transformation of Snoop Dogg into Snoop Lion has been anything but smooth. In the months since the legendary MC first returned from Jamaica with his new identity, the media has chosen to accept his new name only when it works for headlines. If it’s reggae or somehow related to Jamaica, he’s Snoop Lion. If it’s more urban/gangster leaning, Snoop Dogg. That said, today’s entry in the ongoing saga of whether or not a major celeb can get away with a name change without being Sean Combs is a new (reggae influenced) track called “No Guns Allowed.”

Backed by a …

MUSIC VIDEO: Kendrick Lamar Ft Drake – “Poetic Justice”

Drop everything, Kendrick has returned.

After a minute away from headlines, Kendrick Lamar has returned to the blogosphere this afternoon with the release of his official music video for “Poetic Justice.”

Serving as the first single off 2012′s good kid, mAAd city to be released in 2013, “Poetic Justice” pairs the Compton-based rapper with Young Money megastar Drake over an extremely chill beat courtesy of Scoop DeVille. You can view the video below.

MUSIC VIDEO: Lil Wayne – “Love Me” Featuring Drake And Future

Lil Wayne is back with a club cut. Featuring a smooth beat from Mike WILL Made It – a prolific guy who is slated to be the hip-hop production equivalent of 2013 to what 2 Chainz was to guest features in 2012 – “Love Me”, off the upcoming I Am Not A Human Being II, is a banger for the ladies that will probably prove to have some crossover appeal. Or did the (barely there) Drake feature not tip you off?

Yeah, he’s there, splitting hook duties with Future. Drake does his Drake thing and Future does his …

Drake’s Third Album Will Be Called ‘Nothing Was The Same’

One could certainly see, from watching the multiple interviews at the Grammys, that Drake was on a high from winning best rap album for Take Care.

He announced during one of these interviews that the title to his forthcoming third effort would be called Nothing Was The Same. Definitely a fitting title for the mastermind behind some of the year’s best singles and featured performances. The album wil be hit shelves and everywhere this summer.

Drake also released the visuals for his first single off Nothing Was The Same, called “Started At The Bottom,” and can be …

MUSIC VIDEO: Drake – “Started From The Bottom”

Drake originally planned to release his new single “Started From The Bottom” on Grammy night, but instead we get the official video (and it’s way better).

Love it or feel it could be better, “Started From The Bottom” has only just begun its ascent to becoming a pop culture mainstay. The official video proves Drake is not only sonically in a league of his own, but that no one else in hip hop has a mind for videos quite like him either. We follow the Toronto native as he reinterprets everything from his time as a night …

SINGLE REVIEW: Drake – “Started From The Bottom”

Artist: Drake
Song: “Started From The Bottom”
Album: TBA

Just under fifteen months have passed since Drake released Take Care, and in that time the Canadian-born rapper has only grown in popularity. From his successful tours, to appearances on some of the biggest singles of the year, 2012 proved Drake has become a full blown hip hop brand that seemingly can do no wrong. By sticking to a release plan that includes singles stretching from street anthems to heartfelt ballads, Drake has carved a niche in the urban market that few ever find success in, and even less manage …
