Required Listening: Lorde – “Tennis Court” (Diplo Remix)

New Zealand’s hottest export has officially been remixed by everyone in the game.

Yesterday, the one and only creative genius known as Diplo shared with the world his unique remix of Lorde’s infectious “Tennis Court.” Keeping with his signature style, Diplo kicks up the energy of the song to eleven, adding bouncy bass and additional synth to the mix while leaving Lorde’s beloved croon alone. It’s not the best track Diplo has delivered in 2014, but it’s a fun track nonetheless that seems guaranteed to generate a fair amount of clicks for everyone involved over the next several weeks. You …

MUSIC VIDEO: RiFF RAFF x Slim Thug x Paul Wall – “How To Be The Man” (Official Texas Remix)

RiFF RAFF just graced us with a tripped out music video for “How to Be the Man,” but the Neon Icon is back again with new visuals and new verses courtesy of Houston mainstays Slim Thug and Paul Wall. With little neon to be found, the video puts a modern twist on the sight of Houston rappers constantly flashing across MTV in the mid 2000s as it focuses on a fleet of expensive cars and attractive women while still ensuring we’re in 2014 with Jody’s aquaberry diamond shark teeth grill making a cameo.

Riff Raff Shares “Kokayne” (Produced by Diplo)

Riff Raff has been teasing the release of his debut album for months, and now that Neon Icon is less than a month from hitting stores Jody Highroller is having a hard time keeping the material to himself. We have already heard “How To Be A Man,” as well as its badass remix, and now we have a song produced by Diplo that may convert punks into rap fans if the marketing is right.

Featuring production that brings to mind the best moments of The Transplants’ music, “Kokayne” is far more rock than rap. Riff Raff doesn’t …

RiFF RAFF Shows How To Be The Man In New Music Video

After teasing fans with behind-the-scenes footage of a music video seemingly ages ago, RiFF RAFF has teamed up with MySpace to premiere a brand new Versace music video for “How to Be the Man.” The video is fitting for the rap game’s Neon Icon as it finds him surrounded by models in neon swimsuits, tripped out animated visuals ranging from the neon Pink Panther to neon sharks, and of course, neon admirers in the form of onlooking children eating snow-cones while being held by neon models and learning from the Neon Icon himself in a neon classroom.

In non-neon words, …

The Mad Decent Block Party continues to grow. Last year it hit 13 cities around the US and this year they’re bumping that number up to 22.

This touring mad house offers up a different lineup at each spot. So those who are excited to see Outkast’s name on the list – hold on to your emotions. So far they’re only pegged down for the Colorado date. No worries though–they aren’t the only ones to head out for. Chance The Rapper, Fatboy Slim, Run The Jewels, Diplo and Action Bronson are all involved as well.

REVIEW: Skrillex – ‘Recess’

Artist: Skrillex
Album: Recess
Genre: Bass music
Label: Big Beat / OWSLA / Atlantic

After Skrillex’s popularity eclipsed the entirety of the electronic music scene, the star producer seemed to slip into the shadows. Yes, he released a Burial-esque EP along with the fact his explosive side project, Dog Blood, performed well within the dedicated electronic community, but neither achieved the crossover success Sonny Moore found with his main project. Regardless of popularity or sales, though, it was refreshing to hear Moore experiment with new styles as his shtick began to feel rather overdone throughout the majority of his third …

Free mp3: Frank Ocean, Diplo, Mick Jones & Paul Simonon – “Hero”

We told you on Friday that Converse was planning something special for the latest installment of their ‘three artists, one song’ series, and this morning they delivered on that promise in spades.

“Hero” brings together Odd Future crooner Frank Ocean and EDM megastar Diplo with The Clash’s Mick Jones and Paul Simonon. The results are a soothing-yet-pulsating audio experiment that sends chills down your spine. You can stream and download the track, for free, below.

You will probably never find UTG complaining about new Frank Ocean material, but “Hero” is not exactly the kind of song you would expect from …

Frank Ocean, Diplo, And Members Of The Clash Collaborate On New Song

Well, this was certainly unexpected.

Frank Ocean, Diplo, and members of the Clash (Mick Jones and Paul Simonon) are the latest pairing of talent to be thrust together through Converse’s popular three artists one song campaign. On Monday, a new track titled “Hero” will hit the net, which was created by this collaboration sometime in recent months.

Speaking about the recording process, Diplo offered:

The Clash were always teachers to me, even before I shared a studio with Paul and Mick. Their musical anarchy and constant attitude to disregard rules and forge their own path was inspirational to me. They

The Weekend Of “Drunk In Love” Remixes Continues As The Weeknd, Diplo Join In

It’s the tail end of a Valentine’s Day weekend, one that fell not too long after Queen Beyoncé dropped a nuclear bomb on the pop wars of 2013, may they rest in peace. Just as it has been the song of the last few months, so too was Yoncé’s single the song of the weekend.

The track was already perfect for a wine-soaked weekend with a lover, but then some of hip hop’s biggest names started dropping remixes.

Detail, the track’s producer, dropped a high-minded monolith of a remix, a bigger than life beast that commands we bow down and …

MUSIC VIDEO: Diplo – “Revolution”

Diplo has released a music video for “Revolution,” his collaboration with Faustix & Imanos and Kai off of last year’s Revolution EP. The visuals are rather fitting for the contrasting mixture of emotional vocals and club-ready trap drops as scenes of neon lights flashing across beautiful women and people flying down the road on motorcycles are blended with the sights of a boxer tirelessly training and a lonely individual looking to drink her pain away.

Follow the jump to check out “Revolution” and be sure to check out the Revolution EP here if you slept on it in 2013.…

Mike Posner Debuts “Top Of The World” Featuring Big Sean (Produced by Diplo)

Mike Posner spent the majority of 2013 working on new material and dropping the occasional single to remind fans he’s still at it. We could spend a good editorial debating the merit of those singles, but like any new music series they were relatively hit or miss based on who you ask. This song, however, is another story altogether.

There is not a lot of discussion about how long major collaborations take to make happen, but in order for Mike Posner to create “Top Of The World” he needed over a year and a half. Produced by Diplo, the song …

Skrillex Releases Dates And Venues For Annual “Takeover”

Starting just after the new year and going well into February, Skrillex will be performing multiple shows over the course of several days in San Francisco, Brooklyn, Amsterdam, and Barcelona. This is the third consecutive “takeover” series that the DJ has put on since 2012, and you can view details here.

Skrillex, known by some as Sonny Moore (Ex-From First To Last), released his 7th EP, Leaving, earlier this year, and joined forces with EDM pioneer Diplo to form the supergroup Jack U, who made their debut at Mad Decent Block Party this past July. In October, the …
