Earlier this month I made my way out to the 930 Club in Washington DC to see the very popular rock group The Gaslight Anthem with Laura Stevenson and the Cans. Normally I shy away from the 930 Club (although it’s not a terrible venue) because generally a lot of the acts that play there I do not enjoy. However since the announcement in August that New Jersey’s best was coming to DC, I’ve been counting down the days to visit one of the longest standing music venues in the nation’s capital. I had only heard wonderful things about …

It was bound to happen eventually, right?
Mumford And Sons put on one hell of a homecoming show London’s 02 Arena last night, and today clips from the show have begun to pop up online. One of the more compelling pieces of footages to surface so far has been a stunning live rendition of The Beatles’ classic, “With A Little Help From My Friends,” which fans can now view right here on UTG. The clip showcases a much larger sound and stage presence than many expect, and if you ask me that is probably a good thing. You can view …
We are less than a month from the release of Bruno Mars’ Sophomore album, and this morning we’re greeted by the record’s latest single, “Moonshine.” The song made its debut on iTunes this morning, but the track was simply too good to leave alone on a digital store. “Locked Out Of Heaven” did nothing for me in terms of giving a reason to buy the album, but this one has me thinking different. You can stream “Moonshine” after the jump.

Hydra Head Records have announced that they will be closing their doors in December due to financial difficulties. Read the heartfelt statement from the label’s own Aaron Turner by looking below. Thanks to Hydra Head for two decades of awesome releases and memories.
“Hydra Head Records has never been a smooth-running operation. We’ve spent the majority of our existence excitedly scrambling from one thing to the next, taking on more than we could ever possibly hope to achieve, and never quite finding solid footing in the midst of our self-induced whirlwind of chaos. Though not every second of doing this …
Sequels are everywhere these days, but I’m willing to bet you have not seen many quite like Judd Apatow’s This Is 40. The film expands upon the story of Pete (Rudd) and Debbie (Mann) from the blockbuster hit Knocked Up and shows us first-hand how they are dealing with their current state of life. Things were a mess when we left off, and it seems things aren’t quite perfect when we meet them now. I’ll save the comments this time around and let you enjoy the clip wit-free after the jump.
This Is 40 opens December 21.
