LISTEN: Asking Alexandria’s Ben Bruce, Darkest Hour and More Cover Florence + The Machine For ‘Sumerian Ceremonials’ Compilation

Sumerian Records recently announced the compilation album Sumerian Ceremonials: Florence + The Sphinx, which features 12 acts from the label’s roster covering songs from Florence + The Machine’s Ceremonials album (with one exception). The label previously released the contributions from Periphery, Stick To Your Guns and Come The Dawn, and today brings the release of three additional tracks from the album.

Those tracks include Darkest Hour’s take on “Spectrum,” Asking Alexandria guitarist Ben Bruce’s version of “Shake It Out” and Miss Fortune’s “No Light, No Light.” The album will hit stores on May 13, while a number of pre-order

Rockstar Mayhem Festival Announces 2014 Lineup

After months of rumors, speculation and leaks, the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival has officially announced the official lineup for the 2014 edition of the tour. Officially. The trek will be headlined by Avenged Sevenfold, who, surprisingly enough, are playing the festival for the first time, save for a few guest appearances in 2010. They’ll be joined on the main stage by frequently recycled Mayhem acts Korn, Asking Alexandria and Trivium.

Darkest Hour Sign With Sumerian Records

D.C. metal veterans Darkest Hour have announced they are now signed to Sumerian Records and are in the process of writing a follow-up to their 2011 release, The Human Romance. The group are also currently in the midst of touring alongside Killswitch Engage, Miss May I, The Word Alive, and Affiance, so check out the upcoming dates here.

Killswitch Engage have announced that because As I Lay Dying won’t be attending the band’s Disarm The Descent tour to promote their latest album of the same name, they will be adding The Word Alive and Darkest Hour to the tour routing in their (As I Lay Dying) place. Darkest Hour Part Ways With Ryan Parrish

Darkest Hour have announced that they parted ways with their drummer Ryan Parrish. The replacement duties will be filled by Dead To Fall’s Timothy Java for now.

Half of this year’s Summer Slaughter Tour line-up has been revealed. Headliners include Whitechapel and The Black Dahlia Murder who will share the stage with Darkest Hour, Dying Fetus, Fleshgod Apocalypse, and Impending Doom.
