Caribou Owen Pallett

Daphni (Caribou) and Owen Pallett Team Up On Two New Songs

Electronic musician Daphni (Dan Snaith of Caribou) and Canadian renaissance man Owen Pallett have collaborated on a split single, “Julia” b/w “Tiberius,” that’s up for streaming now via FACT. They’re exactly what you would imagine: dance-worthy tracks that progress somewhat slowly, intertwining Pallett’s violin beautifully and, at times, eerily. It’s exactly what we didn’t know we needed.

If you feel like lyric-less music just needs to be loud to be experienced properly, think again. Snaith tweeted some advice on how to listen the songs at their fullest. We vote follow his word.…

Did Lil Jon Just Release The Best Music Video Of 2014?

Lil Jon may not have topped the charts in recent years like he did in the mid-2000s, but that does not mean the man who brought crunk to the masses has stopped making music. In fact, he’s been preparing a major return to the national spotlight, and this week he kicked things off in a big way by releasing an absolutely insane song and video you won’t soon forget.

Titled “Turn Down For What,” the latest from Lil Jon partners the hitmaker with DJ Snake for a club anthem that combines the outrageous tendencies of Jon’s delivery with bass-and-glitch heavy …

Duck Sauce (A-Trak and Armand Van Helden) Announce Debut Album ‘Quack’

Remember that Barbara Streisand song? The one that got played in every commercial and people would always sing along to? That single was the magic of DJ duo Duck Sauce, aka A-Trak and Armand Van Helden, two fellows who never actually put out an album.

Now the two are ready to share their debut LP, a record we hope will be as chock full of hits as the ones they’ve already made. The album, called Quack, comes out April 15 through Fool’s Gold. Included on the album are the singles “aNYway,” “Barbra Streisand,” and “It’s You.”

Ladies and gentlemen, here she is. Billboard’s Rising Star of 2013.

In 2010, Janelle Monáe reinvented pop music with her debut release The ArchAndroid. This year she returned to the forefront with The Electric Lady– a multi-suite album centered around empowering female protagonists–that wound up topping numerous radio charts and end-of-year lists. It wasn’t long before she won Billboard’s Rising Star of 2013, an award previously given to Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj.

Before ringing in the new year by performing as the headliner at the 25th Annual Peach Drop in Atlanta for the “Year of the Peanut” with …

Breathe Carolina

STREAM: Breathe Carolina – “Savages”

Breathe Carolina announced not that long ago that they would be premiering the debut single off their forthcoming album, Savages. The song, which has the same name of the album, has officially been released on iTunes. Before you purchase the song though, you can take a listen to it by checking below the jump.

“Savages” has some of the same sound as the group’s last album. It’s heavy on the bass, and has all of the elements to be a dance song. I believe we can expect at least a few more tracks like this once we get to …

Joel Piper has been working diligently to put out his upcoming solo album, which we anticipate to be released here in the very near future. Piper gives a brief “interview” about the sound for the new album, and at the end of the video you can hear his new song, “We Are The Dreamers.”

“We Are The Dreamers” is a carefree, EDM style track that will make you want to get up and dance. You can check out the short video he made …

FREE MP3: Kill Paris – “Ghostbusters Theme” (Remix)

Tis the weekend for Halloween parties, and rising producer Kill Paris has just delivered the ultimate anthem for your costumed shenanigans.

Everyone knows the theme song to the hit movie Ghostbusters, but over the last couple decades the song has unquestionably begun to sound a bit dated. Thankfully, Kill Paris knows a thing or two about remixing classic pop tracks, and has come just come through with his own take on this iconic movie theme. The track opens in a way reminiscent of the original, then explodes into a dance-driven party track that is as suited for the club …

REVIEW: ESQUILLE – ‘Rock This Club Down’

Album: Rock This Club Down EP
Genre: House, Club, Dance

Sweden’s popular EDM producer, ESQUILLE, has one mission in mind with his new EP, and the effort’s title says it all. Even at a brief 15 minutes shared between just 5 new tracks, Rock This Club Down is packed to the brim with enough well-produced heavy bass and catchy rhythms to make you lose a few pounds from dancing your ass off.

I should admit here and now that I’m not entirely an EDM connoisseur. I’ve dabbled in dubstep, trap, trip-hop, house, et cetera, but I wouldn’t …

baauer harlem shake

WATCH: Baauer’s “Harlem Shake” Is The Beating Heart Of A New YouTube Dance Meme

Does this mean that Baauer is going to be the next PSY?

Trap producer Baauer has quickly ascended to the upper echelon of tastemaker approved beatmakers. It’s difficult to quantify a ranking like that, but here it goes. On one hand Baauer, real name Harry Rodrigues, is doing high-profile residencies at Las Vegas nightclubs and making tracks with legendary hip-hop producer Just Blaze. On the other hand, he doesn’t have any songs in rotation on Top 40 or hip-hop radio. Yet.

In short, he’s making money, but he’s still got the underground shine.

Or he did. Thanks to …

Chiodos 2012

WATCH: Chiodos Teach Fans How To Dance “Gangnam Style”

Psy’s crossover hit “Gangnam Style” has gone from meme to Billboard hit and now it’s infiltrating the world of alternative rock with a new video uploaded to Chiodos’ official YouTube account this morning. In the clip, Craig Owens and crew teach a group of fans who attended a recent meet and greet to dance “Gangnam Style” on what appear to be an empty soundstage. It’s silly, of course, but sure to provide a few chuckles to help start November off right. You can view the clip after the jump.

Chiodos frontman Craig Owens is currently on a solo …
