The Black Keys Entering The Studio For New Album

We’ve already reported that The Black Keys aimed to get another album out by the end of 2013, but now we have something more concrete to share: they are entering the studio this week, aiming to finish by March so that they may release the album before the end of this year.

MUSIC VIDEO: The Black Keys – Gold On The Ceiling

The Black Keys fans are in for a real surprise today because they have released their video for the single “Gold On The Ceiling.”

This mini film is directed by Harmony Korine and shows Patrick Carney and Dan Auerbach as twins (You’ll see what I mean soon enough). Whether this is some ploy to grab our attention or just to be completely outlandish and different, this tactic truly worked. There is nothing more to say then watch this awkward video and laugh your butt off.

The Black Keys to Guest Star on Workaholics

It’s been announced that Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney (The Black Keys) have wrangled themselves guest spots on an upcoming episode of Comedy Central’s Workaholics!

There is an explanation for this rock/comedy match-up; The Black Keys just so happen to be fans of your favorite Comedy Central slackers and became friends with Adam Devine (Adam on Workaholics) who coincidentally ranks The Black Keys high on his list of favorite bands.

Black Keys Unveil Hip Hop Project

Although they’re known for their alternative sound, The Black Keys are going to dive into another genre.

According to Billboard.com, an upcoming album featuring the group and some of the biggest names in hip-hop will be released on November 27th.

Recorded under the name Blakroc, the Jim Jones idea will feature artists such as Mos Def, Q-Tip, RZA and Ludacris. Recording was done early this summer and so far only a teaser has been posted on Blakroc.com.

The short clip showcases The Black Keys and how their musical contribution works with the other artists.
