STREAM: City And Colour – “Of Space And Time”

Nothing picks a Monday up like a new track by City And Colour. The solo acoustic act, fronted by Dallas Green, premiered a new song called “Of Space And Time” earlier today, and just like we all expected, it absolutely rips.

The song comes off of Green’s upcoming and yet to be titled summer release. City And Colour is also set to make two appearances at Austin, TX’s SXSW music conference later this week.

Follow the jump for CAC’s set times, and a stream of “Of Space And Time”.

ALBUM STREAM: Alexisonfire – ‘Death Letter’ EP

Alexisonfire is coming to its end, much to my dismay. The Canadian post-hardcore band’s (presumed) final release is the aptly titled Death Letter EP. Dallas Green will continue on as City And Colour, with Wade MacNeil now the vocalist of Gallows.

This EP is unusual in that it’s acoustic, and is exclusively Wade and Dallas. No drums (except for one tom on “You Burn First” and some effects on “Burial”), no bass, and no screaming vocals from George Pettit. It’s oddly fitting that a band so heavy is ending on a somber, acoustic note. I will remain by …

Alexisonfire Announce New EP ‘Death Letter’

Well this is wonderful: Alexisonfire announced that they will be releasing a new EP titled ‘Death Letter’ on December 4. Featuring six new tracks, the EP will be coming out on Die Alone Records. Dallas Green (now of City and Colour fame) and the rest of the group went into the studio earlier this year to flesh out some songs, and now we’re going to finally hear what they have had to come up. Excited? You should be.

You can check out the album artwork and the track listing after the break, and you can also listen to clips from …

City And Colour Finish New Album

We previously reported that Dallas Green, aka City And Colour, was going to be in the studio recording from November 4 to November 21. Today, Dallas used Twitter to confirm that the next album was completely finished in that amount of time, and that he was looking forward to the tour with Alexisonfire. My objection? If he’s looking forward to the Alexisonfire tour so much, why not one single United States date? I guess as an American fan I’m asking too much.

P!NK Announces The Hives and City And Colour As Support For Spring 2013 Tour

We had to double-check the sources on this one, but it’s legit.

Dallas Green’s City And Colour project is officially joining Top40 songstress P!NK on her 2013 North American tour as support alongside fellow openers The Hives. This could very well be the tour the breaks City And Colour into the mainstream and we could not be more excited to see how pop fans react to Green’s songs. You can view the full routing below:

City And Colour Recording Next Album

Dallas Green, aka folk artist City & Colour and guitarist/vocalist for Alexisonfire, will enter the studio on November 4 to start recording his next album. He had previously said he had the songs written and just needed to record them, and now he’s got the ball rolling. He announced it via his newly formed Instagram account, where he showed a picture of a calendar with “Recording” locked up for most of November.

This comes as a surprise, since yesterday Alexisonfire tweeted they were rehearsing for their reunion concerts. Dallas Green seems to be a busy guy. We look …

City And Colour Opens Up About New Album

City And Colour is preparing the follow-up to the album Little Hell and recently discussed the progress being made. Dallas Green spoke with Spinner regarding track instrumentation, emotional aspects and much more.

Read quotes from the interview by simply looking below.

“I think I’ve got 15 new songs, Nine of which are probably ready to go and the other six are sort of bits and pieces that I need to buckle down and put together. So I’m more than thinking on the new record, I’ve almost got one finished. Now I gotta go and record it.”

STREAM/DOWNLOAD: Alexisonfire – To A Friend (Adventure Club Remix)

What’s better than one Canadian music powerhouse giving away a free song? That same Canadian powerhouse act using another great Canadian artist’s track for source material.

EDM masterminds Adventure Club are paying homage Alexisonfire this week with the release of a chillstep take on the classic, “To A Friend.” I know dubstep is probably not the first thing that comes to mind when picturing what pairs with Dallas Green’s smooth vocals, but I’ve gotta say that this track makes you view things in a whole new light. This is beautiful. Click past the jump to stream, download, and enjoy.

Two-Fifths of Alexisonfire In Studio Together

It looks like City and Colour CEO Dallas Green and Gallows frontman Wade MacNeil are working in the studio together. Green and MacNeil represent two-fifths of Canadian post-hardcore institution, Alexisonfire. Despite calling it a day last year, Alexisonfire have resurfaced to go on one proper farewell tour in celebration of a decade of making great music. Check out MacNeil’s tweets confirming his studio time with Green after the jump.

Little is known about what Green and MacNeil are up to. Could it have something to do with a final Alexisonfire release? A possible EP or Greatest Hits release? Or …

Dallas Green Speaks On Alexisonfire Final Tour

Alexisonfire’s Dallas Green has commented on the recent news of AOF getting back together for one final tour. Please check out what he had to say below and let Under The Gun Review know if you are stoked for this tour to hit your state!

“I don’t think we’ll play arenas. It’ll probably be a bunch of shows, probably be a bunch of nights at a smaller place. Maybe we’ll play every record or maybe we’ll do different set lists and stuff. It’ll be more of a happy-go-lucky vibe than ‘hey, look at how big we were.’ You know what

Alexisonfire to Tour One Last Time

Canadian post-hardcore outfit, Alexisonfire, broke up less than a year ago under a cloud of controversy. Guitarist/co-singer, Dallas Green, left the group to focus all his energy on his more successful side-project, City and Colour.  Never the less, Alexisonfire was going to continue on without Green, but then guitarist/co-singer, Wade MacNeil joined British hardcore punk outfit, Gallows, and Alexisonfire officially went to sleep.

Well, the group’s twitter recently came alive, hinting at “big news.” Some speculated that Alexisonfire was getting back together. Others splashed around in the “new record” pool. Yesterday, MacNeil put the rumors to rest …

STREAM: City and Colour at Bonnaroo

Canadian folk artist, City and Colour, recently performed an hour-long set at this past weekend’s Bonnaroo Music Festival. You can check out City and Colour’s performance and set list after the jump. It is brilliant, per usual.

City and Colour released their third album, Little Hell, last year…and what a wonderful record it is; by far C&C CEO Dallas Green’s darkest, but fullest, effort to date.
