Daft Punk Talks “Get Lucky,” No Show Plans In Immediate Future

It’s been nearly impossible to escape Daft Punk news as of late. With their highly anticipated album, Random Access Memories, on the horizon, the duo joined the Australian radio show, Triple J Radio, for an exclusive interview.

In the nearly 5-minute long interview, Guy-Manuel and Thomas discuss their new single, “Get Lucky,” and how the group currently has no shows or tours planned in support of the album. Daft Punk goes on to say, “We spent five years working on this record…that’s really the first step by releasing it is we’d like to have people experience the record …

New York Radio DJ Claims Kanye West’s New Album Is Complete

There has been talk of new material from Kanye West for months, but as of this morning it seems all but confirmed that a new album is on the way (much) sooner than later.

New York City radio personality Peter Rosenberg sits at the center of this story, as it is his on-air discussion of West’s latest efforts that sent bloggers into a fury earlier today. According to Rosenberg, West is not only planning a new album, he’s already recorded it. In fact, Rosenberg claims he has heard the record and that it is “dark.” You can listen to an …

STREAM: Daft Punk – “Get Lucky” Feat. Pharrell

Daft Punk have been doing an excellent job at teasing their long-awaited new album, Random Access Memories, for quite some time now. Today, the full version of their song, “Get Lucky,” finally surfaced. The track features Pharrell Williams on vocals, and legendary producer and guitarist, Nile Rodgers.

Snippets of the song first appeared in a commercial, which aired during SNL late last month. Over the weekend, the robot duo struck again and surprised Coachella attendees with a minute long preview of their new music video containing both Pharrell, and Niles Rodgers on guitar. In addition, the same trailer was …

POSSIBLE BS: New Daft Punk Song “Dancing To The Beat” “Leaks” Online

Remember what we said about overly enthusiastic people pouncing on possibly counterfeit Daft Punk tunes? Well here we go again.

Idolator is reporting via Pink Is The New Blog that one of the tracks from Daft Punk’s upcoming album for Columbia leaked online a few days ago. Apparently titled “Dancing To The Beat”, it sounds a hell of a lot like that snippet that played during the Saturday Night Live commercial last week. Maybe that clip was a sample that was sped up for the final mix of “Dancing To The Beat”? It’s possible.

That’s not the only reason to …

STREAM: Daft Punk – “No End” (We Plants Are Happy Plants Remix)

I think this remix from We Plants Are Happy Plants is really indicative of how desperate The People are for new Daft Punk.

Let me explain. We Plants Are Happy Plants is the handle of Hungarian producer Peter Bergmann. Bergmann, along with an untold number of internet denizens, came across a number of tracks from a set uploaded to YouTube titled ”Daft Punk – Real Leak “No End 2013″. Purported to be unreleased tracks from the enigmatic Parisian duo, they were, unfortunately, fakes created by the uploader, user ArtInstitute2011. It’s too bad; the songs, solid productions on their …

Daft Punk Revamp Site, Confirm Move To Columbia In The Process

Man, those helmets look fresh to death.

Daft Punk’s website has been pretty static up until recently. Before yesterday, a visitor to daftpunk.com would be greeted with the image seen here… and nothing else. That all changed today, when the logo seen here appeared on their home page.

Again, it’s not a splash page and it doesn’t link to anything. But the artwork is quality enough to merit a moment of your gawking.

Oh, but what’s this? Is that Columbia’s logo in the lower right quadrant?
