EXCLUSIVE: Patterns Cover Nickelback’s “Animals”

North Carolina’s Patterns have been cutting their teeth in the underground scene since 2011, and today we are very excited to be helping the group premiere their cover of Nickelback’s tongue-in-cheek smash, “Animals.”

Taken from the 2005 album, All The Right Reasons, “Animals” was originally a driving, balls-to-the-wall rock song about hooking up in the backseat of a fast car. In their reinterpretation, Patterns have emphasized the rock elements of the song, making everything excessively heavier, and the results are as wild and fun as you could possibly imagine. You can stream their cover at the end of this …

Many of you may not know this, but a good number of the UTG staff live in and around Boston, Massachusetts. Michael (formerly of The Gay Blades and currently of The Venetia Fair) altered …

WATCH: Alex Goot and We Are The In Crowd Cover Pink’s “Just Give Me A Reason”

One of today’s kings of covers, Alex Goot, has teamed up with We Are The In Crowd to give their rendition of Pink‘s “Just Give Me A Reason.”

The piano-driven cover is similar to a lot of Goot’s prior work which includes covers of Kelly Clarkson, Katy Perry as well as some of his own original music.

Teaming up with We Are The In Crowd for this cover made a lot of sense since vocalist Tay Jardine’s voice slightly resemble that of Pink’s.

Watch the band performing “Just Give Me A Reason” in a garage below and …

Purity Ring Release Soulja Boy Cover, Relaunch Website, and Announce Spring Tour

Continuing their foray into the world of hip-hop melding endeavors, indie pop juggernaut Purity Ring have released an appropriately timed cover of Soulja Boy’s “Grammy” (something he’s never won) and we think it’s safe to say that it’s far superior to its source material. With the pop duo’s signature production and Megan James’ impressively lovable vocals, this version would easily see mass radio play if it were the original. You can stream the track below the jump.

Purity Ring have also relaunched their official website as of today where you can find new merch and the dates for their forthcoming …

Stars In Stereo are streaming their cover of Aerosmith’s famed 1973 single, ”Dream On”.

The female-fronted rock band from Los Angeles decided to cover “Dream On” while they were tracking new songs.

“We were in our studio recording some other songs and, like we usually do, were playing our …

WATCH: Crown The Empire Cover “Moves Like Jagger” Live

We have been gushing over Crown The Empire for a few months and as it turns out, they just keep getting better.

Proving why they are one of our favorite unsigned bands in North America, Crown The Empire unleashed their cover of Maroon 5′s “Moves Like Jagger” at The Doors in Dallas earlier this week. One fan captured the song on their phone and uploaded the clip for the masses to enjoy. The audio leaves a bit to be desired, but consider how protective the band has been of the cover up to this point, this is probably the best …
