Ke$ha Goes From Bad To Worse; Adds Pitbull To “Crazy Kids” Remix

Last week we brought you a stream of Ke$ha’s “Crazy Kids” remix featuring club-rap phenomenon Will.i.am. The track was, to put it lightly, panned across the board by critics and fans alike. People love Ke$ha’s care-free brand of music, but the addition of Will.i.am.’s referential musical styling was one no one wanted to hear. So what do you do when you superstar-studded remix flops? Simple. Release another version, only this time featuring someone people will [hopefully] want to hear.

The latest remix of “Crazy Kids” hit the net this morning and instead of Will.i.am boasts a new verse from …

Rick Ross Dropped By Reebok In Light Of Rape Lyric Incident

We’ve already reported on Rick Ross‘ (weak) apology on the matter earlier last week, but it looks like the world has yet to forgive the Miami rapper for his actions.

The problem revolves around the following lyrics, which were used in one of his recent singles, “U.O.E.N.O” that go: “put Molly all up in her champagne, she ain’t even know it, I took her home and I enjoyed that, she ain’t even know it.”

Smart stuff to say over the radio, right?

Since then, Ross hasn’t given any further comments on the matter, while receiving hate from …

Rocketown Promoter Has Different Side To Volumes Controversy

There are two sides to every story, and the latest incident from Rocketown is looking pretty hectic. Last night, the word was Volumes front man Michael Barr was attacked by following his dedication of a song to a homosexual friend (with No Country For New Nashville originally reporting that reasoning, but they have since updated their page to reflect a lack of concrete knowledge on it). Some people posted on their Facebook page saying Barr needed to show more respect and the like, but there was no concrete report on what actually happened.

While no video of the incident …

Damn, Rocketown. Get it together.

Following news earlier in the week that an employee at the Nashville-based Rocketown music venue was fired after wearing a Hostage Calm shirt promoting same sex marriage, word of a new incident at the Tennessee establishment has made its way to UTG.

According to various sources at the venue, as well as tweets from band members, it seems Volumes frontman Michael Barr was attacked by someone last night following his onstage song dedication to a homosexual friend. You can view a selection of Tweets from Barr and other members of Volumes below, as well …

Fired Employee And The Wonder Years Comment On Rocketown Controversy

Expanding on the events taking place at Rocketown earlier this week, both the man fired from the venue and pop-punk outfit The Wonder Years have commented with their direct thoughts on the controversy. Wes was fired for wearing the Hostage Calm band t-shirt stating “I Support Same-Sex Marriage”. Read both statements below and offer your opinion through the jump.

Note from The Wonder Years:
“The greater issue here to me is that Rocketown is meant to be a safe and constructive place for the youth of Nashville. This hard stance against equality is troubling, and I’m deeply saddened for any

The Game Is Feuding With Fox News Anchor; Starts #BOYCOTTFOXNEWS11 Twitter Trend

News network Fox News, in its true conservative form, had a writer, Michelle Malkin, who  criticized The Games‘ album cover for Jesus Piece, calling it blasphemous. The Game has since started a boycott of Fox News, starting a Twitter campaign with the hashtag #BOYCOTTFOXNEWS11, and done an interview fully explaining his stance.

I’m not sure the Games’ fans really cross over into the Fox News audience that much, but I suppose any boycott is a boycott.

The Game did an interview with his thoughts on it, saying “She has no place to make racial remarks or

Empire! Empire! (I Was A Lonely Estate) Ripped Off By American Airlines, Ask For Fan Help

Topshelf RecordsEmpire! Empire! (I Was A Lonely Estate) have recently posted on their Facebook page, telling of how they flew to the United Kingdom and twice had their guitar broken by American Airlines. The guitar broke in its flight case once going to England and once going back, and American Airlines has apparently denied any responsibility or fault for this. The band has gone on the record to say that they’ve never had a problem flying with their guitar for any other airline, and they are encouraging fans to e-mail the airline letting them know their thoughts.

Oceano Release Free Jimi Hendrix Cover, Claim Earache Records Stole Money From Them

Classic rock gets a brutal redo this morning as the one and only Oceano have released their cover of Jimi Hendrix’s “Machine Gun.”

Now this story may get a little messy, so I’m going to do my absolute best to keep facts straight. Apparently, Oceano were approached by the makers of Homefront: Songs For The Resistance to record a cover for their soundtrack. Oceano agreed, choosing Hendrix’s “Machine Gun” as their jam, and worked out an undisclosed amount of money to cover the costs of recording, which was then given to their label by the makers of Homefront to be …

Lupe Fiasco Premieres “Bitch Bad” Video, Reveals Album Art

Lupe Fiasco has never been one to stray from controversy, especially as of late. His single “Lamborghini Angels” went straight for the heart of religion, questioning its effects on society and culture throughout time, and now he’s turning his pen towards the sexes with, “Bitch Bad.”

Opting to release a video accompanying the song as part of its premiere, Lupe dropped “Bitch Bad” on the world late last night and social networks are still teeming with reactions. The song and video focus on the how loose usage of derogatory terms, specifically “bitch,” can mess with the way a child (boy …

Erykah Badu Tells Wayne Coyne (The Flaming Lips) to Kiss Her ‘Glittery Ass’

Wayne Coyne is in deep shit today as Erykah Badu tears him down via Twitter due to some recent drama in The Flaming Lips camp.

Last week, along with the tagline “Blood, glitter, white goopy liquid, and Erykah Badu’s (very, very naked) sister”, Pitchfork posted a new video from The Flaming Lips for their track “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face”. The final edit for the video, which features Badu’s sister Nayrok, apparently was not approved by Badu and company and now she’s rather peeved to say the least.

Today, The Flaming Lips posted the following regarding the …

Excision Responds To “Buying Fans” Claim, Discusses EDM Growth

The latest rumor swirling the internet over the past week has been that a collection of the world’s hottest EDM artists, including Deadmau5, Excision, Skrillex, Avicci, Steve Aoki, and David Guetta, have been “buying fans,” or “paying for likes,” in Mexico City. We haven’t reported on it because, well, it sounded pretty outlandish, but for the sake of argument – here is the quote/unquote “photographic evidence” of wrongdoing:

To put an end to the rumors, Excision has stepped forward with a response. His letter is rather lengthy, so I’ll save my thoughts for later and let you decide for …
