Dispatch Announce Live Album With June Release

Super popular and super poppy indie rock band, Dispatch, have announced an upcoming live album. The release will be titled Ain’t No Trip To Cleveland: Vol 1, and come out on June 4.

It should be noted that Dispatch is a band known for their live albums, with fans often preferring live versions to studio versions (and certain songs, like “Cut It Ya Match It,” not having a studio version). The strange part? It’s Volume 1 with no insinuation of a Volume 2, and it is not indicated whether the album was recorded in Cleveland or if the …

UTG PHOTOS: THE ROCKET SUMMER (3/31/13)

Under The Gun sent Head of Photography, Kellie Gannon, to the Rocket Summer Tour on March 31, 2013 in Cleveland.

The Rocket Summer has always been a band that has held a huge, gigantic spot in my heart, mostly for nostalgic reasons. I’ve had the opportunity to see TRS live on several occasions over the years, but never had the opportunity to shoot any of the shows. Exactly ten years after the release of “Calendar Days” and ten years after my ears first heard the sweet, sweet sounds of Bryce Avary’s soulful, happy voice, I had the opportunity to shoot …

UTG PHOTOS: Jonny Craig Tour (3/27/13)

Under The Gun sent Head of Photography, Kellie Gannon, to the Jonny Craig Tour on March 27, 2013 in Cleveland.

What does a reformed bad boy do when he cleans up, gets sober, and puts music first in his life? Embarks on a solo tour, that’s what. Jonny Craig hit the road this spring on a solo tour with support from The Seeking, Hail The Sun, and Kurt Travis. I had the opportunity to catch this tour as is made it’s way through the home of Rock and Roll. Jonny Craig stopped by Peabody’s in Cleveland on March 27, the …

Envoi 2012

EXCLUSIVE STREAM/DOWNLOAD: Envoi – “Ghost (acoustic)”

Several weeks ago, Absolutepunk.net introduced you to the completely revamped Envoi, a female fronted powerhouse that has been pushing its way into the public eye, causing plenty of blog buzz as it goes.

“We’re all pretty experienced but at the same time unproven,” says singer Maddie Finn who fronted an eponymous project up to joining Envoi after the departure of their former vocalist. She’s not the only one with experience. Bassist Mat Colwell once held the position of bassist in Cleveland Pop-Punk favorites Call It Fiction while several other members formally took post in various metal-core bands in the …

Envoi Premieres Single on Absolutepunk.net

Being a female fronted band in a scene shared by the Paramore powerhouse isn’t an easy thing. It’s one thing to get your foot in the door, but standing toe-to-toe with Hayley Williams is another thing all together.

No matter how different a band may be, if their vocalist is a woman, there will be comparisons and there will be competition. Despite that, we think there is room for more ladies in this sausage fest of a scene, and so does Cleveland, Ohio band Envoi.

Recent lineup changes have transformed Envoi from a local favorite to a nationwide contender. …

UTG PHOTOS: Tell All Your Friends 10th Anniversary Tour (10/4/12)

After going on a mini-summer hiatus following Vans Warped Tour, Under The Gun’s Head of Photography, Kellie Gannon, is back with brand new photos from the Taking Back Sunday “Tell All Your Friends” 10th Anniversary Tour in Cleveland!

As my first show back with Under The Gun since July’s Warped Tour in Cleveland, it seemed only appropriate that I should shoot a very special show.  Taking Back Sunday’s “Tell All Your Friends” 10th Anniversary Tour with Bayside was an absolutely perfect start to the fall roster of shows to come through town.  Not only did this tour …

UTG PHOTOS: Beast Friends Forever Tour (7/10/12)

Under The Gun’s photographer Tori Thomas attended the Beast Friends Forever Tour featuring Jon Walker (ex-Panic! At The Disco), Mark Rose (ex-Spitalfield), and Lucas Carpenter at the Beachlad Tavern in Cleveland, OH on July 10th.

As many of you know, I attended the first date of this tour back in June. I’m bringing you another photo set from the Beast Friends Forever Tour! This date was equally as awesome as the date in Buchanan, MI. They played in a writer’s round, just as before, but this time they worked out the kinks. Lucas Carpenter started off the writer’s round …

UTG PHOTOS: Warped Tour Cleveland, PART II

PART II – Vans Warped Tour Cleveland (Cuyahoga Falls, OH – Blossom Music  Center) July 11, 2012

During Part I of my day at Vans Warped Tour Cleveland, I covered five bands including Senses Fail, Tonight Alive, Anti-Flag, Pierce The Veil, and Yellowcard.  If you missed Part I, you can see those photos here.  Moving into the second part of the day, there were so many bands I wanted to cover that all seemed to be playing around the same time so I narrowed this part of the day down to four bands.  Around the middle of the afternoon …
