Danny Boyle and Leonardo DiCaprio Circling Steve Jobs Biopic

After negotiations with David Fincher fell through last week, Sony Pictures is moving quickly to find a director for their Steve Jobs movie and THR reports the studio has already begun speaking with Danny Boyle about taking over the gig. And while Fincher was determined to land Christian Bale for the leading role, Boyle is said to have already approached Leonardo DiCaprio for the part. The pairing would represent a reunion of sorts, as Boyle and DiCaprio worked together 14 years ago on The Beach.

Not to be confused with the Ashton Kutcher-led Jobs, which was released last …

Directed by Ridley Scott, and set for a December, 2014 release, Exodus will star Christian Bale as Moses, and tells the story of the Jewish exodus from Egypt.

Also starring Breaking Bad‘s Aaron Paul as Moses’ assistant, Joshua, as well as Sigourney Weaver, and Ben Kingsley, most of the film’s scenes will be shot in Pechina, located in Spain.

The film will mark Bale’s first time working with Scott, and aside from his two upcoming roles with Terrence Malick, is his next scheduled role after his well received performance in American Hustle.

Starring: Christian Bale, Amy Adams, Jennifer Lawrence, Jeremy Renner, Bradley Cooper, Louis C.K.

“Some of this actually happened.”

With a stellar cast consisting of Christian Bale, Amy Adams, Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Jeremy Renner, and Louis C.K., the film will guide you through the ups and downs of the loosely based Abscam operations. …

Success Continues For ‘The Hobbit’ This Pre-Christmas Weekend

Despite the debut of so many other heavyweights this weekend, including the highly anticipated Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, studio estimates are showing that The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug will come out as the highest grossing film.

The movie, which made its original US release last weekend with over 70 million in sales, saw some good carry over in its success with 31.5 million made in sales this weekend. As previously mentioned, Will Ferrell reprised his nearly ten-year-old role of Ron Burgandy for the sequel to Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, and in his efforts, earned …

MOVIE REVIEW: ‘Out Of The Furnace’

Film: Out Of The Furnace
Directed By: Scott Cooper
Starring: Christian Bale, Casey Affleck, Woody Harrelson, Forest Whitaker, Zoe Saldana

If Scott Cooper’s short but notable career has taught us anything, it’s this: half of directing is casting. Okay, that might not be a quantifiable statistic, but you get the idea. For his first feature, Crazy Heart, he managed to wrangle Jeff Bridges into the role of a down and out country singer, and there’s probably no role more perfectly apt for His Dudeness. The rest of the film seemed to simply fall into place surrounding Bridges’ acting (and …

‘Frozen’ Overcomes Box Office Heat From ‘Catching Fire’ and ‘Out of the Furnace’

In its second weekend, Disney’s Frozen earned another $31.6 million, which was enough for it to overtake The Hunger Games: Catching Fire ($27 million) for the #1 spot at the weekend box office and prevent Catching Fire from pulling off the rare three-peat.

The post-Thanksgiving weekend frame is typically a weak one as it provides a bit of a lull before the impending onslaught of major Christmas-time releases (beginning with The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug next weekend), and this year was no exception. Overall, this was the fifth slowest weekend of the year, with theaters grossing a total of …

Affleck’s Batman Will Redefine The Character

It seems that Ben Affleck has indulged us a little more than usual as of late, giving some insight into what we will see in DC’s upcoming Batman vs. Superman.

In a recent interview with Playboy Magazine, Affleck states that the film will portray Batman in a “way that doesn’t compete with the Bale and Chris Nolan Batman but still exists within the Batman canon. It will be an older and wiser version, particularly as he relates to Henry Cavill’s Superman character.”

With all the news surrounding the character and film as of late, it seems that Synder and …

Christian Bale Hints Upcoming ‘Exodus’ Film To Be Violent; Says To Expect “Shocking Stuff”

There has been quite a bit of hype around Ridley Scott’s upcoming biblical epic, Exodus, which so far boasts a big name cast – including Christian Bale, Sigourney Weaver, Aaron Paul and more. While there’s not a ton of information known about the movie itself, Christian Bale stated that Exodus is much more violent than what it’s made out to be. He also states, “There’s a lot of shocking stuff about it.”

Bale To Hitfix:
It’s an intriguing piece, because it’s very few people that I’ve met that have actually read the Torah, the Pentateuch, the five books of

It has been widely reported …

MOVIE REVIEW: The Dark Knight Rises

Movie: The Dark Knight Rises
Director: Christopher Nolan

I’ve been racking my brains for a week trying to think of some artistic analogy with which to introduce this film. I couldn’t muster one. In actual fact, I’m pleased this review is belated, because it’s given me the chance to take the film in twice and see my opinion do an almost total 180. I thought The Dark Knight Rises was a beautiful, contrarian disaster the first time I watched it – perhaps I was too overhyped or emotional, or a Friday evening viewing after a stressful week at work was …

Hans Zimmer Composes Piece for Aurora Shooting Victims

Just one week ago today, during a midnight screening of The Dark Knight Rises, a madman entered an Aurora, Colorado theater and began firing upon the patrons. 12 were killed.

In the week following, an outpour of support has reached the victims and families affected by the shooting. Dark Knight actor, Christian Bale, visited local hospitals to talk to the shooting victims. Vigils and ceremonies have been conducted in remembrance of those lost. Film industry giants have made statements and offered condolences.  Now, legendary film composer (and composer of The Dark Knight Rises), Hans Zimmer, is doing his part.
