Thomas Erak Leaves Chiodos to Focus on the Fall of Troy’s New Record

This time last year, it was difficult to not be excited for Chiodos’ new record, Devil. Craig had returned, and the addition of Thomas Erak seemed to ensure that the group’s forthcoming effort would likely be their most diverse outing to date. Unfortunately, this hope was never realized, as the band’s latest attempt found them revisiting familiar territory with mixed results.

Now, eight months removed from Devil, Thomas Erak has taken to social media to announce his departure from the Michigan-based outfit. In a series of tweets to fans, Erak explained that he would instead be focusing …

We Came As Romans Stream Acoustic Version Of “Hope”

Michigan post-hardcore titans We Came As Romans have a long history of finding the perfect balance between heavy and soft. Recently, the group has been experimenting with a more stripped down sound, and today an acoustic version of one recent single found its way online.

We could argue the best WCAR tracks all day long, but everyone should be able to agree that “Hope” is one of the bigger songs in the band’s growing catalog. It’s the definitive anthem of the modern alternative scene, and presented here in acoustic form the lyrics have an even greater impact than before. You …

Chiodos Lose Two Members, Recruit Replacements From RX Bandits, The Mars Volta

Recently, Michigan post-hardcore heavyweights, Chiodos, have undergone an unexpected lineup change as they prepare to embark on this fall’s ‘Parks and Devastation Tour’ with A Day To Remember and Bring Me The Horizon. If you recall, the band recently brought on guitarist extraordinaire, Thomas Erak, former frontman for The Fall of Troy, before recording Chiodos’ most recent album, Devil. Now it seems original bassist, Matt Goddard, and longtime drummer Derrick Frost (for the second time), have decided to part ways with the band in order to spend time with loved ones and pursue interests back home.

Chiodos Release Music Video for “3 AM”

Chiodos has been busy since the release of their latest record Devil, which came out last March. This effort included the return of original vocalist Craig Owens and the inclusion of The Fall Of Troy guitar aficionado Thomas Erak. The band put a lot of time and creativity to provide a versatile number of songs that showed a different side of the band, mostly due to Owens’ tenure with Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows (D.R.U.G.S.).

Today, the band has premiered the music video for the poppy but somewhat heavy-chorused ballad “3 AM.” The actual video shows Owens …
