MUSIC VIDEO: Deftones – “Swerve City”

Alt-metal band Deftones are back with their first music video off of Koi No Yakan, “Swerve City.” The video, featured on Noisey, takes place out in the desert with shots of a girl riding a horse.

Does This Tweet From Chino Moreno Mean That Team Sleep Is Coming Back?

Chino Moreno is a weird, infrequent tweeter. After about five seconds of scrolling through the timeline of the Deftones frontman one will reach last years dusty microblogged missives.

He’s not big on communication either. Rather than building a rapport with his fans or efficiently sharing pertinent release or tour information, Moreno just wants to turn his followers onto as much music as possible. Who knew that Moreno is a Frankie Avalon fan? (And who knew that Frankie Avalon was this good?!)

Which makes Moreno’s somewhat cryptic tweet about his dormant Team Sleep project all the more intriguing.

Deftones Will Release Scrapped Album

In 2008, original Deftones’ bassist Chi Cheng was in a car crash that put him in a coma. Only as recently as this past July did he finally make it out of the hospital to recover at home. Back in 2008, the Deftones were working on an album with Cheng, Eros, that was scrapped when the band hired new bassist Sergio Vega.

In an interview with California alternative radio station KROQ, lead singer and guitarist Chino Moreno said that Eros would eventually see the light of day. He said “…I think [Eros] really captured that time in
