Crosses (†††) Announce Spring Tour Dates

Crosses (†††) have announced a handful of new tour dates for May. The band is currently wrapping up their previously announced tour dates, and will be taking their live show to the East Coast after a few weeks off.

The band, featuring Deftones’ Chino Moreno, released their self-titled record on Sumerian Records back in February to widespread acclaim. We love it here at UTG, and I personally believe that it flew under the radar for a lot of potential fans. In case you haven’t already seen it, their video for “†he Epilogue” can be viewed after the jump.

WATCH: Crosses (†††) – “The Epilogue”

Crosses (†††) have released an eerie new video for their track “The Epilogue,” off of their recently released LP, Crosses, out now on Sumerian Records.

Featuring Shaun Lopez of Far, and Chino Moreno of Deftones, Crosses (†††) is a dream pop infused delve into indie rock, and the recently released video certainly attests to that. Featuring static images, blurred figures, and surreal storytelling, the video for “The Epilogue” is a fitting physical portrayal of the band.

Continuing with the creepy aspects presented in their video for “Bi†ches Brew,” it seems that the band is solidifying a visual landscape for …

††† (Crosses) Debut Creepy “Bi†ches Brew” Music Video

††† (Crosses) have released a fascinating new music video for their track “Bi†ches Brew.” The project is, of course, one of Deftones vocalist Chino Moreno’s several side projects. This one is rounded out by former Far guitarist Shaun Lopez and Chuck Doom.

After self-releasing a pair of EPs, the group’s full-length debut is finally due on February 11, 2014 through Sumerian Records. “Bi†ches Brew” is darker and more doom-y than anything else I’ve heard from the band, which gives me hope the album will offer more diversity than what I was previously expecting. Chino even unleashes some of his signature …

STREAM: Crosses – “†he Epilogue”

Another day, another new piece of music from a Chino Moreno related project. This time around it’s Crosses, or ††† if you like, and they have released a new song titled “†he Epilogue.” Being Moreno’s more poppy outfit, if you will, Crosses is a think-tank made up of Deftones vocalist, Chino Moreno, along with Scott Chuck, and Shaun Lopez of Far fame. Earlier in the month we announced that Crosses had signed to Sumerian Records, in the form of a video update hinting to new material this coming winter.

The band also posted a status on their facebook page, with …

Deftones’ Chino Moreno Comments On Releasing Album ‘Eros’

Deftones frontman Chino Moreno was asked when fans could expect to hear their shelved album Eros. The band recorded Eros during 2008 and features the final performances of their late bassist Chi Cheng.

He told MTVhive.com:

“I get asked about that record a lot. For a while, I was giving the same answer, “No, no, no, no, no, no, no.” After Chi’s passing, I went back and listened to some of the record and it was a pretty intense experience to say the least. I think it should be released, but we don’t have any definite plans.

MUSIC VIDEO: Deftones – “Swerve City”

Alt-metal band Deftones are back with their first music video off of Koi No Yakan, “Swerve City.” The video, featured on Noisey, takes place out in the desert with shots of a girl riding a horse.

Deftones are scheduled to go out on an international tour starting May 11. The band has been relatively silent to the public eye since the passing of founding member Chi Cheng on April 13, 2013. The video can be seen after the jump.…

Does This Tweet From Chino Moreno Mean That Team Sleep Is Coming Back?

Chino Moreno is a weird, infrequent tweeter. After about five seconds of scrolling through the timeline of the Deftones frontman one will reach last years dusty microblogged missives.

He’s not big on communication either. Rather than building a rapport with his fans or efficiently sharing pertinent release or tour information, Moreno just wants to turn his followers onto as much music as possible. Who knew that Moreno is a Frankie Avalon fan? (And who knew that Frankie Avalon was this good?!)

Which makes Moreno’s somewhat cryptic tweet about his dormant Team Sleep project all the more intriguing. …

ALBUM STREAM: Deftones – ‘Koi No Yokan’

The Deftones‘ new album is pretty kickass, and now a stream has been posted so you can hear it for yourself. Koi No Yokan comes out Tuesday and is their second album without bassist Chi Cheng, the first being Diamond Eyes.

You can expect to read the review of it here soon, and until then, stream the full album here on UTG (and lo, it is good) by clicking “Read more”.…

Deftones Will Release Scrapped Album

In 2008, original Deftones’ bassist Chi Cheng was in a car crash that put him in a coma. Only as recently as this past July did he finally make it out of the hospital to recover at home. Back in 2008, the Deftones were working on an album with Cheng, Eros, that was scrapped when the band hired new bassist Sergio Vega.

In an interview with California alternative radio station KROQ, lead singer and guitarist Chino Moreno said that Eros would eventually see the light of day. He said “…I think [Eros] really captured that time in

STREAM: Bassnectar Ft. Chino Moreno – “Hexes”

If you told Under The Gun Review that we would be streaming a brand new track from Bassnectar and Chino Moreno (Deftones) today I would have called you crazy. Here is the stream of the duo’s trippy journey “Hexes,” that can be heard through the jump!

The song was made for the upcoming film Resident Evil: Retribution and Lorin “wanted to make a beat that dropped like a wall of bricks to knock people back in their seats at the movie’s sudden and dramatic end.”
