“Depressed” Quentin Tarantino Shelves ‘Hateful Eight’ Following Early Script Leak

Remember that super-cool Western Quentin Tarantino was working on that could potentially star Bruce Dern alongside Christoph Waltz? Well, forget about it.

Speaking to Deadline in a new interview, writer-director Quentin Tarantino revealed he no longer plans on making The Hateful Eight as his next film. The entertainment news outlet claims an early leak of the script made the Django Unchained filmmaker “so upset that he has decided that he will not direct that film next.” Instead, Tarantino is considering the idea of publishing his early draft as a book. A quote later in the article adds, “Starting this week, …

Everyone is still in shock over the sudden loss of Paul Walker over the weekend, but business must push forward and this morning we have our first update on the status of Fast and Furious 7.

According to a new story on The Hollywood Reporter, studio executives met on Sunday morning to discuss the fate of the upcoming seventh installment in the Fast And Furious franchise. Kanye West Postpones Multiple ‘Yeezus’ Tour Dates

Having just started a little over a week ago, Kanye West‘s fall headlining tour has been entirely postponed following an unfortunate accident.

According to an article on Billboard, the 60-foot LED screen used at the center of Kanye’s live production was damaged in a recent accident. A representative for the rapper says a truck that carried the screen was in an accident Wednesday that “damaged the gear beyond repair.” The truck was on its way to Vancouver.

The rep claims it will be “impossible” to put on a show until the screen is repaired.

For the time being, …

‘Evil Dead 2′ Has Been Cancelled

The original Evil Dead franchise has always been sort of an oddity in the world of movies. While the original is praised for its grassroots production and unique story, it’s more often than not the sequel (Evil Dead 2) that fans cling to as their favorite of the series. When plans were announced to remake the original people wondered if the sequel would get a reboot as well. It turns out, contrary to everything you’ve probably heard, a reboot of Evil Dead 2 is not happening anytime soon.

Speaking with Gorosito TV, reboot co-writer Rodo Sayagues revealed …

Attention Starved Death Grips Never Planned To Perform At Shows

Death Grips have the “Attention Starved Whores Who Will Do Anything In The Realm Of The Bizarre Of The Year” award clinched. They were supposed to perform at a Lollapalooza aftershow last week, but bailed and had a suicide note put on screen as their music played lightly in the background instead. Yesterday, other promoters began finding out that the suicide note with background music was, in fact, the planned show. To keep this in perspective, this is a band with a major label distribution deal.

The manager of Chicago’s Bottom Lounge, the first venue to have a Death Grips …

Grizzly Bear And All Tomorrow’s Parties Cancel I’ll Be Your Mirror Show

Brooklyn indie rock giants Grizzly Bear are known for beating their own path (and, to me, also singing beautifully acapella in Paris.) They teamed up with All Tomorrow’s Parties (ATP) to have their own fest that they aptly titled “I’ll Be Your Mirror.” Today, the two groups have cancelled I’ll Be Your Mirror. It was originally postponed earlier this year from May to November.

Ticket buyers were e-mailed this message on why the event was cancelled:

ATP and Grizzly Bear have sadly decided to cancel the planned I’ll Be Your Mirror London concert which had been postponed to

Carolina Rebellion, A Rain Or Shine Event, Cancelled Due To Rain

Maybe this is going to seem like an attack piece of music journalism, but sometimes you just have to look at the facts and point out the idiocy. Carolina Rebellion, a North Carolina rock festival whose first listed piece of general information is “This Festival is a Rain or Shine Event“, cancelled the final day of the festival yesterday due to rain.

The festival made a post on Facebook saying “Due to inclement weather continuing throughout the night, we have to cancel the remainder of Carolina Rebellion 2013. This decision was made to ensure your safety as

Streetlight Manifesto Denied Physical Copies of New Album By Label

Your favorite ska-punks just can’t catch a break. Streetlight Manifesto just announced on their Facebook page that their label, Victory Records, is witholding their new record, The Hands that Thieve, and refusing to send physical copies to the band or their fans. Streetlight Manifesto assures that “we will be able to fulfill all orders soon” and that fans shouldn’t buy the record from Victory’s website, but rather, from their RISC store. In a nutshell, Victory is keeping records in their possession that people have already paid for. Pretty lame.

In addition, the acoustic version of Streetlight’s new …

DAMMIT(?): Jeff Daniels Confirms “Dumb And Dumber To” Is DEAD

A few months back the internet exploded for an hour or so over news that Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels had officially signed on to make a sequel to Dumb And Dumber. The film was set to shoot in August, but TMZ is now reporting that Jeff Daniels has proclaimed the film “dead” following the exit of Carrey (who thought the studio was not as excited about the project as he would have liked). Is this good news? Is it depressing? I guess at this point we will never really know what might have been, but I get the …
