Touché Amoré Announce New Album, Fall 2013 Release Date

California hardcore group Touché Amoré announced today that they have entered the studio to record their latest full length on Deathwish Inc. The band is set to release the new record this coming Fall.

Touché Amoré’s upcoming album is currently being recorded with producer Brad Wood (Sunny Day Real Estate, mewithoutyou), and is the follow-up to their critically acclaimed record Parting the Sea Between Brightness and Me.

You can check out the awesome announcement video after the break, but get excited for what is arguably a contender for album of the year.

On April 19, The Lumineers played for a sold out crowd at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, CA in between their two weekend performances at Coachella. Aside from the Fillmore, the Greek Theatre is one of the best venues in the Bay Area. Make it a warm spring night, and you’re in for a good time.

Coachella Unveils Set Times

The official set times have been unveiled for this year’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival 2013.

Coachella takes places in Indio, California on two separate weekends in April (12-14) (19-21) and features performances by great acts like TNGHT, Jessie Ware, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Purity Ring and many more. View all of the performers through the link above.

Last night, recently reunited post-hardcore band Finch announced the openers for the California leg of their tour. The openers for their full tour are still unknown at this point; nonetheless, some of these opening acts make a lot of sense, and I anxiously await to see them. They are as follows:

Set Your Goals Postpones SoCal Holiday Show; Band Releases Statement

It is with much dismay that we here at UTG announce that Set Your Goals will be postponing their upcoming holiday show at Los Angeles’ Chain Reaction this Friday, December 7. The decision was made because of vocalist Jordan Brown’s recently ruptured achilles tendon from Sunday’s show. Rest assured that the band’s loyal Southern Californian fans will still have a show to attend in the future, once Brown has been cleared to actually move around at shows (because let’s face it: watching somebody sing in a wheelchair is boring).

Texas is the Reason Announces Reunion Tour

This isn’t super surprising, but nevertheless it’s awesome.  Texas is the Reason announced today tour dates for 2013, and they’re hitting some places on the East Coast as well as in California. Texas is the Reason is a really important band in punk history, so seeing them tour around again is really welcome. Blink-182 are making it known that they have no plans of slowing down after leaving Interscope Records last month. According to a direct Tweet from bassist Mark Hoppus, the band are gearing up to record new music in California this week.

Finch Add Second American Show

Recently reunited rock band Finch have announced a second show in the United States. Both of their American reunions will be at the Glasshouse in California, with this one being added a day after the first, marking the first two days in February 2013 as Finch reunion days.

Tickets go on sale this Monday. The first show sold out in about half an hour, so if you want to go, be sure to stay on the ball with the on sale time. I’m personally still holding out hope for a full reunion tour – two dates in California and one …

REST IN PEACE: Suicide Silence Vocalist Mitch Lucker

The Press Enterprise is reporting that Suicide Silence vocalist Mitch Lucker was killed following injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident late last night in Orange County, California. According to the report, which you can read here, Lucker was pronounced dead at 6:17 a.m. this morning at UCI Medical Center in Orange County.

Coroner’s officials said Lucker was hospitalized after a motorcycle accident shortly before 9 p.m. Wednesday. Huntington Beach police were investigating the crash and expected to release details Thursday morning.
