Bruce Campbell CAMEO confirmed for “Evil Dead” reboot, new plot discussed

When news broke that Evil Dead was getting rebooted, my biggest question also happened to be on the tip of tongues across the planet: What role, if any, will Bruce Campbell play? He was listed as a producer in the initial press release, but no casting had been announced, until now.

Earlier this week, reboot Director Federico Alvarez confirmed that Bruce has a cameo and also talked a bit about the story for the new movie. See what he had to say, below:

Diablo Cody rewriting “Evil Dead” reboot

An official press release has hit the streets announcing the remake and revitalization of the Evil Dead franchise. We already broke most of the information involved, accept for the newly surface detail that the woman behind JUNO, Diablo Cody, has been hired to do revisions on the film’s script (which was penned by Director Federico ‘Fede’ Alvarez).

The film’s original brain trust of Sam Raimi, Bruce Campbell, and Rob Tapert are attached to the film as producers and supposed “guards” of Evil Dead‘s lore.

I’m still excited because I really, really love the original films, but Cody’s participation …

Well hang no more because we have the answers! Word is, Raimi DID go to Detroit for what is being called “quasi-reboot” of the Bruce Campbell lead Evil Dead series and production is (apparently) already underway. Directing the feature will be Freddy Alvarez, the …
