Ohio’s Attack Attack! have announced that after six years and many lineups they will be calling it a day in the coming months.

Announced via a post on Facebook around 3pm (EST) today, the end of Attack Attack! will come following the band’s headlining run on the ironically named “Back In Action” tour. You can read a message posted by the band below:

Well everyone, it’s been a wild ride for Attack Attack, but I think it’s about time Whiting and I take some time to write this note.

We want to start by thanking every single one of you …

Madina Lake Confirm Break Up; Plan Final EP

We have been keeping quiet on this story, but a few of our AbsoluteVoices brethren have been following its development for the last few weeks. Madina Lake, probably most well known for their hit “Here I Stand,” have confirmed what many have been saying for weeks and will indeed be splitting up in the near future.

Confirmation of the impending split was made by bassist Matthew Leone, who explained the decision with a short message to fans. His letter reads:

“We feel content and grateful for the ambitious goal and dream we’ve been able to realize with this project, and

Gerard Way Speaks On MCR’s Breakup

Gerard Way took to the internet to write a very lengthy post on My Chemical Romance and their recent announcement to break up. I recommend that you sit down and read this as it might take a little while to get through but it’s worth your time if you are a fan of MCR. Even if you are not, this is something worth reading.

Additionally, if you have not already spotted this on Reddit – a fan of the band has put together “clues” that “prove” the band is not actually breaking up but taking on a different identity. You …

My Chemical Romance Announce Breakup

My Chemical Romance have announced tonight that they are done after twelve years of playing music together. Read a statement from the band below as well as a farewell message from Gerard Way’s Twitter.

Being in this band for the past 12 years has been a true blessing. We’ve gotten to go places we never knew we would. We’ve been able to see and experience things we never imagined possible. We’ve shared the stage with people we admire, people we look up to, and best of all, our friends. And now, like all great things, it has come time for

Attack! Attack! (UK) Announce Break Up Plans

When I woke to a text alert telling me Attack Attack had broken up, I legitimately lept from bed in my Boston home and scrambled to my laptop. Ohio’s Attack Attack! have been one of our most covered bands, and to hear that they quietly announced their break up in the dead of the night seemed strange. Then I logged on to realize the company behind the aforementioned text alert didn’t understand how important the exclamation point is in the band’s name and that, my friends, is how I learned the UK based Attack! Attack! were going to be parting …

DAMMIT: Blood On The Dance Floor Deny Break Up Rumors; Release New Single

Oh, internet. Why must you deceive us?

A website out of Australia stirred quite a bit of discussion this morning after posting that Blood On The Dance Floor would be putting their unique style of WTFPop to bed once and for all. The site believed, based on information from a man named AJ Maddah, that the end stemmed from the departure of one member, and even linked the split to the group’s recent decision to skip Soundwave.

Turns out, they were wrong.

Blood On The Dance Floor are not only still together, but they recently completed work on a brand …

Bleeding Through

Bleeding Through Officially Confirm Breakup

The other night we reported that Bleeding Through had announced their “final European” tour. The tweet was ominous and no other comments were made on the subject. However, Blabbermouth had the time to catch up with Brandan Schieppati (lead vocals) and you can read what he had to say regarding the status of the band by checking below the jump.

Many of us in the metal world have looked up to these guys for inspiration and in admiration. While I am happy to see them decide to disband on their own terms and to pursue new, exciting endeavors I, and …

HOLY SH!T: Bleeding Through Announce Final European Tour; Breakup Seems Imminent

Bleeding Through have been a force in metal no one could reckon with since their formation in 1999, but a recent series of Facebook posts from the band and its members seems to paint a grim future.

Last night, Bleeding Through posted the following message on Facebook regarding their upcoming European tour:

“Hey Europe come see us play the “Hit The Deck Festival” Stay tuned for complete dates. This will be our final European tour…… I know that some of you know this already. Many don’t…. Some people already think we are done. Starts in April.”

As if that post …

Before Their Eyes Are Calling It Quits

In what seems like a common trend these days, another band is throwing in the towel.  It looks as if Before Their Eyes will be calling it quits in 2013.  The band recently took to their Facebook account to post this somewhat cryptic message:

“The Finale. Coming soon. We love you all. 2006-2013, the best years of our lives. THANK YOU.”

The band just recently released Redemption on March 26, 2012.  Since this message says 2013, one can hope that possibly The Finale could be a final release from the band or a farewell tour.  Either way, stay tuned to …

Meg & Dia Announce Band’s Break Up

Indie pop group Meg & Dia have announced that the band will be breaking up. Meg Frampton released a rather lengthy statement, detailing the reasons for the band’s split and updating fans on some of the current projects the group’s members are now working on.

Although fans of the band will certainly find this to be bad news, they should be able to find some comfort knowing that nearly all of the band’s current members will still be pursuing musical careers. Head through the jump to read the official statement from Frampton below.

DAMMIT: Scissor Sisters Going On Hiatus

Of all the Top40 groups to grace UTG over the last five years, few have received the outpouring of love that our staff and readers have shown the Scissor Sisters. From the days they didn’t feel like dancing, to the nights only horses could find us, this New York based glam act redefined the way we think about pop music and we’re forever grateful that. Unfortunately, it appears the time has come to say goodbye (for now).

While performing in London last night, front woman Ana Matronic set social networks on fire when she uttered the following lines:

“This will
