Welcome back to Weekly Wax!

Once again, this week’s vinyl news was dominated by Record Store Day announcements. Most notably, Childish Gambino and Katy Perry both announced pressings of their most recent albums to commemorate the holiday, and they were far from the only ones. Check out Modern Vinyl’s RSD list for the latest in what will be hitting stores on April 19.

In other news, pre-orders launched for more than a few exciting releases. You can now purchase the soundtrack to Alfonso Cauron’s excellent Gravity and a splatter pressing of Blink-182‘s live album courtesy of Mondo Records and …

VINYL REVIEW: Blink-182 – Blink-182 (Hot Topic Exclusive)

Artist: Blink-182
Album: Blink-182
Label: Geffen Records
Original release date: November 18, 2003

I think it’s safe to say that Blink-182 was my first favorite band. Not only their music, but their personality as a group spoke to me as a pre-teen and teenager with an unequivocal desire to be more outspoken and extroverted. My very first (and second) concerts saw Blink headlining and co-headlining and both of those experiences had a lasting effect on the future me. Looking back on it all now, I can’t help but feel that if it weren’t for Blink-182, I likely never would have …

There are already a lot of cool …

Travis Barker Is Working On A Memoir

Travis Barker of blink-182 has announced that he is writing a memoir. Barker says that he’s been working on the book for months, and that it will be released in Fall 2014.

This book could turn out to be a treasure trove for anyone curious about the most reserved member of blink-182. Presumably, the book will offer Barker’s take on the band’s drama over the years, his struggles with drug use and recent sobriety, as well as a personal look into his 2008 plane crash.

In a Christmas Instagram post of his daughter, Barker writes:

A lot of people were probably feeling that this week with the reissues of scene classics like Cartel’s Ransom EP and The Bled’s Pass the Flask, not to mention the next round in the recent deluge of Blink-182 re-pressings.

LIVE REVIEW: Blink-182 ‘Untitled’ 10-Year Anniversary Show (11/7/13)

For some reason Blink-182 has always been a band everyone likes. I have vivid memories of hearing “Going Away To College” for the first time when I was 15, and my older brother then giving me a copy of Buddha for my birthday. Their music became the standard for car trips and singing along to “Josie” set the bar for how to have fun driving down route 146. My mom even loved to sing the high harmonies on songs like “First Date” so despite the vulgar language they were acceptable to play in the car.

There has just always been …

Watch A Full Blink-182 Set And Q+A From Red Bull Sound Space

This year marks the tenth anniversary of Blink-182‘s Untitled, and the band is currently in the midst of five night run in Los Angeles, at which they have been playing the album in full. In addition to these shows, the band played a special show at the Red Bull Sound Space. The set initially streamed live on KROQ, but in case you missed it (or just want to see it again) you can watch the whole thing after the break.

While this set doesn’t include the full Untitled record, it’s still heavy on cuts from that album. The …

Blink-182 Announced ‘Untitled’ 10-Year Anniversary Shows

After a weekend spent putting fans on the edge of their seat, Blink-182 have confirmed the anniversary performances most believed were already on the way.

Blink-182 are scheduled to appear on KROQ in Los Angeles at 730AM PST this morning, which is the time most believed the big ’10-year’ news would be revealed. To our surprise, however, KROQ jumped the gun on the announcement and revealed plans for two Los Angeles based Untitled shows for early November. That’s right, just two shows, and they’re both on the West Coast. Everyone else would be wise to head to Priceline now. The …

Blink-182 Hint At Possible ‘Untitled’ Ten Year Tour

In a recent sit down with AbsolutePunk.Net, punk rocker Mark Hoppus mentioned that Blink-182 is not opposed to playing ten year or anniversary shows. With Untitled nearing its tenth anniversary next month, the outfit has posted a photo to their Instagram page that has left many fans theorizing that the album will almost certainly see a ten year tour. You can catch the photo in question at the bottom of this post, after the jump.

Untitled debuted at number three on the US Billboard 200, just behind Britney Spears’ In the Zone (feel old yet?), selling 313,000 copies in …
