UTG INTERVIEW: Joe Flanders, Director Of ‘Average Joe’ and Black Veil Brides’ ‘Wretched and Divine’ Documentary

Recently, we stumbled upon a web series gem called Average Joe that we just loved. Very true to its name, the show follows a normal guy named Joe throughout Los Angeles as he seeks out companionship. Editor Jacob Tender recently sat down with the creator and star of the show to talk about the series and some of his other projects which includes the documentary found on the deluxe edition of Black Veil Brides’ latest album, Wretched and Divine: The Story of the Wild Ones.

UTG INTERVIEW: William Control

There are a select few in this alternative music community who truly spend every waking second trying to develop fresh ideas to share with curious ears. Sometimes their efforts fail, sure, but in our book a disastrous experiment is better than a monotonous retread of familiar sonic territory any day of the week.

Of those who consistently work to find new ways to express their creativity, William Francis stands out as someone who, for better or worse, has experienced it all. From teen years plagued with crime and drug abuse, to rising through the underground ranks and signing his first …

MOVIE REVIEW: Legion Of The Black

Film: Legion Of The Black

When I first caught word of a Black Veil Brides film, I knew I would one day be tasked with reviewing said feature for this website. If we’re being completely honest, we anticipated the excitement over the film so much that we actually tried to secure it for a special screening for readers, but I can inform you now that plan never materialized. We were bummed for awhile, but today Black Veil Brides released the feature, entitled Legion Of The Black, digitally for everyone to enjoy …

REVIEW: Black Veil Brides – Wretched and Divine: The Story of the Wild Ones

Artist: Black Veil Brides
Album: Wretched and Divine: The Story of the Wild Ones
Genre: Rock
Label: Lava/Universal Republic

Well, this is obviously not Social Distortion meets Metallica. Not that we ever expected it to be. I don’t mean to imply that I approached this album with anything other than an open mind, but I will admit that as a band Black Veil Brides puzzle me. They’ve deliberately manufactured themselves to be the ready targets of hatred and ridicule from that calibre of fandom that insists on one looking and sounding a certain way in order to be taken …
