Black Eyed Peas File Lawsuit Against Former Manager Sean M. Larkin

UTG has learned that Black Eyed Peas have filed a lawsuit against their former manager, Sean M. Larkin, for failing to file taxes on the band’s behalf between 2002 and 2009.

Will.i.am, Taboo and apl.de.ap all accused Larkin of misleading the group when asked to see financial documents proving taxes were completed. This fraud cost the Black Eyed Peas an enormous $3.2 million (£2.1 million)!

“Larkin falsely represented … on numerous occasions that he was taking care of everything and that they had nothing to worry about,” the band members’ lawyers wrote in the lawsuit.

The Black Eyed Peas announce INDEFINITE HIATUS

The Black Eyed Peas have announced they are going on an indefinite break from creating music together.

The announcement came earlier this week, as the band performed at Alton Towers in Staffordshire, England. You can view a video capturing the moment below.

Will.I.Am later confirmed the split, tweeting “The @Bep will take a break after the beginning…just like we did from monkey business to the e.n.d…but it doesn’t mean we stop creating.”

Rumors are fly that Will is set to drop Black Einstein, his first solo album, later this year. At the time of this article however, No release …

DJ wins $1 million in “My Humps” lawsuit

Cleveland disc jockey and early rap artist Orrin Lynn Tolliver, Jr. just won $1.2 million dollars in a New York state court case against, essentially, “My Humps.” Apparently, Tolliver’s friend and long-time collaborator allowed Tolliver’s 1983 song, “I Need A Freak,” to be sampled without permission. Tolliver’s friend then lied about giving permission and never gave Tolliver a dime! Luckily, the judge saw through this B.S. and justice was served. Click here for the full story.

George Clinton files a lawsuit

This seems to be the week for hip hop artists stealing songs. Funk legend George Clinton has filed a lawsuit against The Black Eyed Peas over their hit song “Shut Up” saying that they stole a portion of George Clinton’s song “(Not Just) Knee Deep”.
