Anthony Raneri (Bayside) Announces Solo Record, Drops New Single

Anthony Raneri, best known as the frontman of emotional punk rock outfit Bayside, has announced a brand new solo record, Sorry State of Mind, which is due out June 30 via Hopeless Records.

Along with the announcement of the new record, Raneri dropped an acoustic pop-infused new single, “Gone,” via Billboard earlier today. The song — which is far from what fans heard on Bayside’s latest full-length, Cult, comes in the form of a lyric video, which can be viewed after the jump.

Sorry State of Mind comes after Raneri’s delightful 2012 release, New Cathedrals. …

Catch Tom Hanks And Justin Bieber In Carly Rae Jepsen’s New Video For “I Really Like You”

Canadian singer-songwriter Carly Rae Jepsen, also known as the girl who gave us the catchiest of catchy hits in the form of “Call Me Maybe” back in 2011, is back with a new track and it is pretty fantastic. Earlier this week, we mentioned that you were going to really, really like her new single, entitled “I Really Like You.” The upbeat, sunshine-and-flowers vibe of the song is perfect for the impending arrival of Spring.

Almost as pleasantly surprising as the fact that Jepsen will certainly not be filed under “one-hit-wonder” is the fact that Oscar-winning actor …

After a quiet couple years, with side/solo projects taking over much of that time, renowned alternative rockers Incubus are ready to make a big comeback for 2015. This is the newest material the band has recorded since 2011’s If Not Now, When? which was released on Epic Records.

This time around, the band has signed with Island Records and will be releasing two EPs through the course of the year, with production done by the band themselves. The two EPs will contain enough songs on each release to combine into an album, with the first one coming out as early …

Stream Charli XCX’s New Album, ‘Sucker’

Having grown more and more successful as the year progressed, British pop singer-songwriter Charli XCX is ending 2014 on a high note as we near the impending release of her newest full-length record, Sucker. She was first heard on the radio as a co-writer for Icona Pop‘s “I Love It” and featured on Iggy Azalea‘s “Fancy.”

Following up on these radio hits, turning down a feature spot on a Christina Aguilera track, and her 2013 debut record, True Romance, the breakout figure that gave us Billboard-charting “Boom Clap” is ready to roll out her next thirteen …

Jennifer Lawrence May Soon Have Her First Top 40 Hit

In a world where major studios control most films and major labels control most widely promoted artists, it’s sometimes hard to believe that there is still a place for fans to turn certain songs into hits that may otherwise never be given a chance to shine. This happens when small artists blow up, such as Smallpools, but as we learned with Anna Kendrick and Pitch Perfect it can also apply to film. “Cups (When I’m Gone)” was a smash at radio, as well as the Billboard singles chart thanks entirely to fan demand, and now it seems …

Taylor Swift’s ‘1989’ Grabs Title For First Platinum Record Of 2014

As a lot of us have hoped and predicted, country-gone-pop icon Taylor Swift is officially the first artist to release a platinum record this year. With Billboard reporting sales in the United States of over $1.2M only a week after the release of 1989, Swift rapidly takes the spot of Ed Sheeran‘s X as the top-selling record of 2014.

The record, whose hit single, “Shake It Off,” debuted at #1, is the biggest step for the 25-year-old’s career evolution, as she officially abandons (but hopefully not forgets) her country roots. Not a stranger to the platinum sonority, with …

Twin Atlantic

Twin Atlantic Don’t Want To Grow Up With New Song “Be A Kid”

Twin Atlantic premiered a new track called “Be a Kid” from their upcoming record Great Divide over at Billboard earlier this week.

Lead singer Sam McTrusty says the track is one of the band’s “favourites” from the recording process. The song is filled with strong emotion as McTrusty sings of hoping to stay young and innocent. There is also a pretty sweet double guitar solo during the bridge.

Check out the song below, and be sure to pick up Great Divide on August 18.

Say Anything

Say Anything’s New Album Doesn’t Have Any Guitars On It

Last month Say Anything confirmed that they would be releasing their sixth studio album, titled Hebrews, June 10 via Equal Vision Records. In a brief interview with Billboard, Max Bemis states that there aren’t any guitars on the album. Instead, it’s full of orchestral instruments. In addition to that, there are sixteen guest vocalists on the album. The …

UTG PHOTOS: Tegan and Sara (2/7/14)

Under The Gun sent photographer, Kellie Gannon, to photograph Tegan and Sara at the Masonic Auditorium in Cleveland on February 7, 2014.

I have to admit, I’ve had a girl crush on Tegan and Sara ever since I first heard “Walking With A Ghost” a decade ago. This killer track, from 2004’s So Jealous, ended up on countless mix CDs I made that coincided with my new driver’s license and newfound freedom to cruise around and blast whatever tunes I wanted.  That was ten years ago — fast forward to now and I was more than psyched …
