You can check out that short interview and the video here.

UTG PHOTOS: Tegan and Sara (2/7/14)

Under The Gun sent photographer, Kellie Gannon, to photograph Tegan and Sara at the Masonic Auditorium in Cleveland on February 7, 2014.

I have to admit, I’ve had a girl crush on Tegan and Sara ever since I first heard “Walking With A Ghost” a decade ago. This killer track, from 2004′s So Jealous, ended up on countless mix CDs I made that coincided with my new driver’s license and newfound freedom to cruise around and blast whatever tunes I wanted.  That was ten years ago — fast forward to now and I was more than psyched …

You can check out Chvrches’ interpretation of “Tightrope” below. It mixes the best qualities from the two artists, showcasing Chvurches’ power-driven melodies alongside Monáe’s sweet R&B soul.…

Twin Forks

ALBUM STREAM: Twin Forks – ‘Self-Titled EP’

Twin Forks, Chris Carrabba’s folk infused pet project featuring members of both The Narrative and Bad Books, have made their debut EP available to stream thanks to the good people at Billboard.

Though initially formed because Carrabba “needed a break from Dashboard,” Twin Forks has snowballed into a hearty, stand-alone act with a continually growing fan base and no signs of slowing down. In stride with the album’s official Dine Alone Records release on September 17, the group will hit the road for nearly two months in support of the debut. You can catch the full list of …

MUSIC VIDEO: Bad Rabbits – “Dance With You”

Boston-based R&B group Bad Rabbits released a video for their newest single, “Dance With You,” last night on Billboard, and like every other one of their videos, it’s a ton of fun that perfectly compliments the wonderful music pumping into your headphones. The new video shows Bad Rabbits playing a dock party to a ton of people, and the obligatory amounts of fun ensues in turn.

Bad Rabbits recently released their new record, American Love, this past year, and if you haven’t gotten a chance to check it out yet, take the time to do so. It is …

Patent Pending Halfway To Funding New Record

Long Island based band Patent Pending have been busy guys lately. When not taking time to tour internationally with Bowling For Soup or performing at the Billboard Music Awards, they’ve been working on a PledgeMusic campaign to fund their new album, which they assure us will be awesome.

Donations will be accepted in increments as small as $10 (which gives you an album download), all the way up to $5,000 (which gives you free admission to Patent Pending shows for life). The guys are at 57% of their entire goal and with 39 days left — odds are fans …

Jay-Z Magna Carta Holy Grail 2013

SoundScan Will Not Count Jay-Z’s 1 Million ‘Magna Carta’ Sales Through Samsung

Following up on a discussion sparked earlier this week in the wake of Jay-Z’s album announcement through Samsung, MTV has confirmed that the 1 million copies of Magna Carta Holy Grail purchased by the mobile giant will not count towards his Billboard ranking.

In a new story put together with help from Billboard, MTV reveals Neilsen Soundscan will not include the million units purchased by Samsung as part of their promotion with Jay-Z even though the company paid $5 for each copy. According to the policy, Billboard doesn’t count bulk sales, and even if they did all albums must be …

Black Sabbath Reach No. 1 On UK Charts After 42 Years, Continue To Be Old

In 2009, Bob Dylan released Together Through Life, his thirty third studio album. It was the first album of his to hit number one on the UK charts in 39 years. Back in March, David Bowie mounted a good effort and reached number one in the UK (and number two in the US) with The Next Day. Black Sabbath have seemingly topped them all, debuting at number one in the UK forty two years and eight months after Paranoid charted that high, according to Billboard.

The new Black Sabbath album, 13, features Rage Against The Machine …

Queens Of The Stone Age 2013

Queens Of The Stone Age Are Already Thinking About Their Next Album

Queens of the Stone Age‘s recent album, …Like Clockwork, debuted at the top of the Billboard charts (directly against my prediction and review), selling 91,000 copies in its first week. Shortly after, frontman Josh Homme gave an interview with Billboard pertaining to the follow up to …Like Clockwork and the full recording sessions. Apparently, the band recorded 19 songs for the album, but only 10 made the Matador release’s final cut.

Homme said, “I think we should make a record right away — but I think we’ll know when that is. The future is always out
