Anthony Raneri (Bayside) Announces Solo Record, Drops New Single

Anthony Raneri, best known as the frontman of emotional punk rock outfit Bayside, has announced a brand new solo record, Sorry State of Mind, which is due out June 30 via Hopeless Records.

Along with the announcement of the new record, Raneri dropped an acoustic pop-infused new single, “Gone,” via Billboard earlier today. The song — which is far from what fans heard on Bayside’s latest full-length, Cult, comes in the form of a lyric video, which can be viewed after the jump.

Sorry State of Mind comes after Raneri’s delightful 2012 release, New Cathedrals. …

UTG INTERVIEW: Behind Bayside’s 15-Year Longevity

15 years in the music world may be the equivalent to 100 years in human life. Trying to keep a band relevant and successful takes time, dedication, hard work and severe determination. Bayside, the punk-rock band we’ve all grown up with has reached this very milestone.

Throughout six studio records, a live acoustic album, overcoming the trials and tribulations of the passing of drummer John “Beatz” Holohan, and bouncing around record labels, the guys from Queens have proven that music will always be what keeps them going. To celebrate, Bayside are throwing themselves an on-the-road birthday party like no …

Bayside Share Scathing New Single, “Dancing Like An Idiot”

Bayside have teamed up with Billboard to premiere a sour new single titled “Dancing Like An Idiot.” Taken from the band’s forthcoming Cult reissue, check out the track’s lyric video after the break, and let us know what you think in the replies.

According to frontman Anthony Raneri, the group’s latest effort is callout to bands that “are just writing giant curses on t-shirts and selling it to a kid ’cause they know the kid is stupid enough to buy it.”

“You’re telling them it’s cool to buy a t-shirt to piss their parents off. There’s nothing cool about …

UTG PHOTOS: Bayside & I Am The Avalanche At Music Hall of Williamsburg (10/4/14)

Under The Gun sent photographer, Kellie Gannon, to Music Hall of Williamsburg in New York City to photograph Bayside on October 4, 2014.

Over the years, I have seen Bayside play on a vast array of stages, some with only a handful in the crowd and some with enormous festival crowds. Seeing Bayside play Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn was a very special show. MHoW isn’t the largest venue in the city, but it was perfect for Bayside’s Brooklyn hometown show and the venue was sold out and packed to the max.

Supporting acts on this tour included Seaway

Brooklyn, NY natives I Am The Avalanche stay true to their hometown when writing songs for their records. It was clearly showcased in their latest albums in Avalanche United and their most recent release, Wolverines.

The band released a video for their newest Brooklyn anthem “177″ off Wolverines, which premiered today on USA Today. The music video aptly shows them playing the song at one of their recent shows they played at St. Vitus Bar, which is located in Brooklyn. The song hit home for frontman Vinnie Caruana and this is what he had to say about …

Watch Bayside Play Dodgeball In “Pigsty” Music Video

Today has been a ridiculous day for new music and new music videos. I’m not sure how close we are to reaching the end of the news roll, but I think we may have found the best clip of the bunch.

Bayside have always been a band that liked to have more fun than their music may have led you to believe. Just because a bunch of guys from New York write sad songs doesn’t mean they’re sad people, and in the band’s new video for “Pigsty” that fact is made crystal clear. You can view the clip, which features …
