Under The Gun is saddened to learn today that former Eighteen Visions bass player Mick Morris passed away in his sleep Sunday (June 2) from a pre-existing heart condition. He was 35.

A circulation of tweets from Morris’ family and friends have made their way around the internet and confirmed our thoughts initially. No other details have been provided regarding where he was at the time. Morris also was the bass player for famed metal outfit Bleeding Through.

As Of Right Now, The Strokes Don’t Plan On Touring In Support Of ‘Comedown Machine’

It’s not all unicorns and lollipops when it comes to The Strokes’ upcoming album Comedown Machine.

Bassist Nikolai Fraiture has stated that the band currently does not have a support tour in the works for their fifth album. Not only that, but any future touring plans have been limited to the abstract.

When asked by NME if the band would be hitting the road at some point in the future, Fraiture responded by saying, “I don’t know. I would love to tour.”

Manchester Orchestra have announced that their long time friend and bassist Jonathan Corey is parting ways with the band. He doesn’t say the specific reason why he is leaving but the band indicated on their Facebook page that he is pursuing a career outside of music.

San Diego natives Secrets have announced, in a new tour update, that bassist Marc Koch has decided to quit the band to focus on school full-time. He left in the middle of the Scream It Like You Mean It Tour and the band’s guitarist Richard had to take over duties for a while. We wish Mark the best of luck in his schooling.

Former Coheed And Cambria Bassist Michael Todd Sentenced In Armed Robbery Case

Former Coheed And Cambria Bassist Michael Todd has pled guilty to armed robbery last July and UTG has the details right here.

Todd held up a pharmacy in Attleboro, MA for many bottles of Oxycontin and was later caught in the act. He must serve one year of home confinement, along with three years probation, and he has to continue drug treatment (while be subjected to random screenings). If anyone needs the treatment desperately, it is truly him.

We wish Mike Todd a successful recovery.
