Leon Bridges Shares “Coming Home” Music Video

With SXSW less than two weeks away, all eyes are on Leon Bridges and his throwback take on soul music. Having risen to prominence at the end of 2014 thanks to a few strong blog articles, the Dallas native has been sharing new songs every few weeks, and now he’s shared his very first music video.

“Coming Home” is the song that introduced the world to Leon Bridges. It’s a slow and romantic ode to the longing we feel to be near loved ones while we are on the road. Bridges’ vocals sound as if they were lifted from the …

Tyler, The Creator Facing One Year In Prison Following SXSW “Riot”

It’s no secret that Tyler, the Creator is a bit of a wild card. Since bursting on to the scene back in 2009, the Los Angeles native has quickly become a household name throughout the music community, partly due to his rambunctious, sometimes questionable concert antics.

Last week, Tyler got himself into a bit of trouble while performing at SXSW, but today, it seems like his most recent frolics may come at a very steep price. The 23-year-old rapper is currently facing up to one year in prison and a $4,000 fine as a result of his performance in …

Austin City Limits

Austin City Limits Releases Schedule

Austin, TX’s slogan should include not only keeping the DIY-centered city “weird,” but musical too. Austin City Limits returns this year for two weekends, October 4-6 and October 11-13, and the schedule has just been released. Much to festival-goers’ delights, the two weekends have a pretty similar schedule. Much to festival-goers’ disappointment, there are some tough clashes to choose from. Overall, though, I think it looks better than last year’s great lineup.

Pick and plan your (dream) schedule from the set times announced on their official website. Some of the tough clashes include Jimmy Eat World/Smith

Red Bull Sound Select

See Azealia Banks, The Gaslight Anthem, Frightened Rabbit, and More for Free

Thanks to Red Bull, a new concert series called Red Bull Sound Select will be happening in ten cities across America from July 26 – 28. Artists include The Gaslight Anthem, MetricAzealia Banks, Dirty Projectors, Frightened Rabbit, Erykah Badu, Juicy J, Yeasayer, and plenty more. Each event has been curated by “local music influences”, so there’s some local flavor in there, too.

Cities being hit up are Atlanta, Austin, Chicago, Dallas, Minneapolis, Nashville, New York, Philadelphia, Seattle, and …

SXSW 2013: A Survival Guide

In preparation of South By Southwest (SXSW), the music industry’s most epic and grueling music festival, I felt inclined to make a list of advice and suggestions that I wish that someone had told me in 2009, as I headed into the event. So to all of you SXSW rookies out there, read the following:

1. Drink water, not whiskey.

Since SXSW is unlike any other festival in the fact that it is a marathon, not a sprint, pacing yourself is key. With schedules spanning six days and shows popping up from breakfast to bar close, bracing your body is …

UTG TV: Fun. – All Alright (Acoustic) (Live @SXSW 2012)

The UTG Live crew is still recovering from a week in Texas at SXSW, but emerged from their post-show hibernation long enough to grace us with a fantastic video feature.

Captured on Wednesday, March 14 at the Waterloo Records’ 30th Anniversary day party (day 1), UTG TV is proud to present an HD recording of Fun. performing “All Alright” acoustic. The performance served as the group’s encore performance, which occured in the middle of the afternoon during a showcase the group was not even headlining (the power of the fan is one to never underestimate).
