Stream & Download The Debut Single By Harlot (Danny Worsnop)

It seems more and more musicians are starting or joining music projects that aren’t their original/main band. One of the more recent artists to start up a new group is Asking Alexandria‘s frontman Danny Worsnop. The band’s name is Harlot, and they have just released their very first single. The new song is titled “Denial,” and you can stream it right below the jump.

We all know that with each release Asking Alexandria have slowly become more of a rock ‘n’ roll band. I personally really dislike that fact, so it’s no surprise that Harlot have more of …

UTG PHOTOS: Break Down The Walls Tour (3/29/14)

Under The Gun’s Head of Photography, Corbin Alvae, stopped over at the Break Down The Walls Tour on March 29 in Royal Oak, MI

Feels like it’s been awhile since I last posted a new photo set, but damn do I have some great things to share. A couple weeks ago I stopped over at one of my home venues called Royal Oak Music Theatre to check out the Break Down The Walls Tour, which featured a good amount of amazing talent.

The tour kicked off with Born Of Osiris, or as some fans refer to them, BOO. The Chicago-based …

Sumerian Records recently announced the compilation album Sumerian Ceremonials: Florence + The Sphinx, which features 12 acts from the label’s roster covering songs from Florence + The Machine’s Ceremonials album (with one exception). The label previously released the contributions from Periphery, Stick To Your Guns and Come The Dawn, and today brings the release of three additional tracks from the album.

Those tracks include Darkest Hour’s take on “Spectrum,” Asking Alexandria guitarist Ben Bruce’s version of “Shake It Out” and Miss Fortune’s “No Light, No Light.” The album will hit stores on May 13, while a number of pre-order

Rockstar Mayhem Festival Announces 2014 Lineup

After months of rumors, speculation and leaks, the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival has officially announced the official lineup for the 2014 edition of the tour. Officially. The trek will be headlined by Avenged Sevenfold, who, surprisingly enough, are playing the festival for the first time, save for a few guest appearances in 2010. They’ll be joined on the main stage by frequently recycled Mayhem acts Korn, Asking Alexandria and Trivium.

But as usual, most of the fun will be had on the side stages, where the wide array of attractions include death metal veterans Cannibal Corpse, Ice …

Review: ‘Punk Goes 90s Volume 2′

Artist: Various
Album: Punk Goes 90s Vol 2
Genre: Rock/Compilation
Label: Fearless

The Punk Goes… series has lasted long enough that counting how many installments exist at this point usually requires a trip to Google or Wikipedia. It has become an annual event of sorts, like the mixtape version of Warped Tour, with alternative music fans impatiently waiting year-round to figure out what theme the scene’s top talent will tackle next. This spring that theme is the 90s for the second time in 8 years, and the results are as mixed as ever.…

Sumerian Records Releasing ‘Sumerian Ceremonials’ Compilation

Sumerian Records announced that a number of artists currently on their roster will be a part of an upcoming Florence + The Machine compilation. What is that, you ask? Well, each artist has recorded a reimagined version of one track off Florence’s Ceremonials album. The contributors include Ben Bruce of Asking Alexandria, City In The Sea, Come The Dawn, Born Of Osiris and more. It’s currently set to hit stores everywhere May 13.

To go along with the announcement, the label launched a couple of pre-order bundles for the album and premiered the first three singles from …

UTG Exclusive: Producer Joey Sturgis Picks His 10 Favorite Projects

I am almost certain there has not been a single day in the last few years of this website where we have not discussed at least one artist who has producer Joey Sturgis to thank (at least in part) for their success. His work on The Devil Wears Prada’s first releases ushered in a new era for hard rock production, and to this day he continues to push the limits of music production whenever possible. He’s also expanded his horizons, including the launch of a plugin series based on his own work, but at the end of the day it …

Asking Alexandria Guitarist Ben Bruce Starts New Record Label

Asking Alexandria guitarist Ben Bruce has joined forces with the UK outfit’s co-manager, Kyle Borman, to create KBB Records. To celebrate this newest undertaking, earlier this week the duo signed their first band, Scare Don’t Fear.

As expected, Bruce was optimistic of the future:

“After years of planning, touring, writing and learning, and after ups and downs, arguments and agreements, I have grown to not only love the music industry, but understand it and respect it. KBB Records is a label run by artists, for artists. With my love and passion for music along with my knowledge and

UTG PHOTOS: We Butter The Bread With Butter (2/16/14)

Under The Gun sent photographer, Kellie Gannon, to photograph We Butter The Bread With Butter at St. Andrews in Detroit on February 16, 2014.

We Butter The Bread With Butter. Say that five times fast, I dare you. For starters, this band is my wild card pick for band to watch in 2014. As a fan of many genres, I’m always looking for new tunes and bands with a unique sound and when I started YouTube-ing around for this band’s previous work, I stumbled upon their extensive appearances at European festivals and tours and was instantly impressed. Don’t judge …

What The Hell Have Asking Alexandria Done To Nine Inch Nails’ “Closer”?

The promotional run for Punk Goes 90s Vol 2 continues today with the release of Asking Alexandria‘s cover of the classic Nine Inch Nails track, “Closer.” It’s dark, violent, loud, and guaranteed to piss off the vast majority of Trent Reznor fanboys.

Opening in such a way as to reference the original without being an exact copy, the first half of Asking Alexandria’s take on “Closer” is a fairly by-the-numbers take on the song all lifelong alternative fans have committed to memory. Around the halfway point however, the band’s heavier influences begin to show, and the remainder of the …
