The Bamboozle Festival Will Not Return In 2013

Earlier this year, we reported that The Bamboozle Festival would not be returning to Asbury Park in New Jersey in 2013. At the time, we thought it was an indication that the festival was moving to the other side of the country. This no longer seems to be the case.

After not turning a profit in 2012, the Bamboozle Festival is taking 2013 off. It still aims to return in 2014, so we can be optimistic about that. However, it’s a disappointment in itself; if 90,000 tickets isn’t enough to turn a profit anymore, there are probably more changes coming …

Bamboozle Avoiding Asbury Park

Rock festival Bamboozle is not going to be held at Asbury Park, concert producer Live Nation has confirmed. Live Nation will continue to hold shows there, but Bamboozle failed to turn a profit in 2012 being held in Asbury. This comes as a big surprise, as last year’s festival surpassed 90,000 attendees.

Live Nation has informed us that at least for Bamboozle — because of the economics of doing it in Asbury Park and where the city is and where they are — it won’t work here,” City Manager Terence Reidy said Thursday.

Bamboozle Adds More Artists

The Bamboozle Festival has unveiled 3 artists performing and UTG is excited to bring them to you right here! Incubus, Skrillex and Mac Miller have all been confirmed to grace the stages from May 18 through the 20 at Asbury Park, NJ.

The Afghan Whigs Reunite For Two 2012 Performances

Legendary 90′s rock group The Afghan Whigs have announced plans to reunite for two performances in 2012.

Announced just this morning, the performances will take place in London (May 27) and Asbury Park, New Jersey (September 22) as part of I’ll Be Your Mirror events. You can view full lineups for these events, as well as ticket information, by following this link.

Originally splitting in 2001, Afghan Whigs have been largely quiet outside of a brief 2006 reunion which resulted in only two new recordings (both found on their retrospective, Unbreakable). No word yet as to whether …

Frank Turner covers “Thunder Road” live

Lucero and Frank Turner decided to play a free show last night at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park, New Jersey.
