Wovenwar (Ex-As I Lay Dying) Announce First U.S. Tour

This is technically an announcement for a summer run of Black Label Society tour dates, since, well, they’re technically the headliners. Technically.

But that’s hardly the news here. The big item of discussion is that one of the tour’s openers (the other being Kyng) is Wovenwar, the new band featuring 80% of As I Lay Dying joined by a new frontman in the form of Shane Blay (also of Oh, Sleeper).

As of right now, these dates will mark the band’s first shows, with their debut album set to hit stores this summer through Metal Blade Records. I must …

Tim Lambesis Has A Very Insightful Interview With Alternative Press

In light of the official sentencing of Tim Lambesis, it seems fitting to read an in depth interview the musician had with Alternative Press. The publication had an opportunity to sit with Lambesis recently, and they had a very lengthy discussion about him being a father, taking steroids and of course, the reason he is going to jail. The interview is a long read, but it’s definitely worth taking the time. You can check it out by heading here.

What Lambesis did was obviously very wrong. After reading the interview though, I have a very different perspective on …

As I Lay Dying Frontman Tim Lambesis Will Serve Six Years In Prison

A year has passed since As I Lay Dying frontman Tim Lambesis was arrested in connection to a murder-for-hire plot the vocalist was allegedly attempting to construct against his wife. Today, Lambesis was sentenced to six years in prison for his involvement in the plot, and according to reports he has no chance at parole.

According to Radio.com, Meggan’s family spoke during the hearing saying Lambesis showed no remorse and only cared about money during the proceedings:

Mike Murphy, Meggan’s father, was the first to speak to the court. As Lambesis watched intently, Murphy explained that some people talk

Wovenwar (Ex-As I Lay Dying) Reflect on the Past Year, Preview Song in New Video

It has been nearly a year since the arrest of As I Lay Dying frontman Tim Lambesis, and his former bandmates have marked the occasion by releasing a video montage of footage filmed over the past year. These events have culminated in the recent launch of a new band called Wovenwar, which features the remaining members of As I Lay Dying being joined by Oh, Sleeper guitarist/vocalist Shane Blay on lead vocals. The video clip is accompanied by a preview of a slow-building ballad from the newly formed group.

Wovenwar has released one single (“All Rise”) to …

Wovenwar (Ex-As I Lay Dying) Share “All Rise”

The Members of As I Lay Dying who were not arrested for allegedly plotting to kill their wife in the fall of 2013 have abandoned their former project and formed a new group known as Wovenwar. Today, their first full song found its way online.

Featuring the driving aggression of AILD with a twist of alternative rock songwriting, Wovenwar make it known with “All Rise” that they are not just another variation of their former selves. This band is far more mainstream. So much so, that with proper marketing I see no reason they should have any difficulty scaling the …

Former As I Lay Dying Members Announce New Project Wovenwar

After weeks of cryptic Instagram teasers and some drama involving an “official statement” on the future of the band that was later revealed to be written and posted by Tim Lambesis without the rest of the band’s knowledge, the group of musicians formerly known as As I Lay Dying (Jordan Mancino, Nick Hipa, Phil Sgrosso and Josh Gilbert) have officially announced their new project will be called Wovenwar.

Lambesis spilled the beans in his message, but the announcement confirms Shane Blay (Oh, Sleeper) will be the band’s lead vocalist. We’re now one week away from hearing the band’s …

As I Lay Dying Members Suggest Tim Lambesis Posted Band Update Without Their Knowledge

When I read the statement updating the future of As I Lay Dying that was posted on the band’s official site this morning, I knew something smelled fishy. Not only was the statement too meandering and poorly written to have come through the band’s management or PR team, but it strangely kept referring to the band as “we” while taking a otherwise third-person approach. It was also missing the type of signature we typically see at the bottom of such statements.

Whoever wrote the statement refused to acknowledge anyone other than Lambesis and drummer Jordan Mancino as “official” members of …

As I Lay Dying Issue Statement Addressing Tim Lambesis, Future Of Band

There’s been a lot of question as to the future of As I Lay Dying lately. Since their previous frontman Tim Lambesis pled guilty to a felony murder solicitation charge back in February, the group’s remaining members have cleared their upcoming tour schedule indefinitely, leaving many to speculate that the end may be near.

However, it seems that this is not the case—at least not presently. Earlier this afternoon, the four-piece posted a lengthy message to fans addressing Lambesis’ current situation and the future of the band. Check it out in full after the break.

As uplifting as this statement …

As I Lay Dying Members Continue Teasing New Music

This is becoming a regular part of my daily routine. The four remaining members of As I Lay Dying who aren’t facing a nine-year prison sentence have once again taken to Instagram to post their third series of cryptic videos teasing new music, and perhaps an entirely new project.

Yesterday’s videos implied the band would distance themselves from the As I Lay Dying moniker by teasing a new band logo, suggesting the band’s new name would start with a W (or maybe include two of them?). The first series of teasers seemed to signal bassist/vocalist Josh Gilbert would be taking …

As I Lay Dying Move Forward Without Tim Lambesis, Preview New Music

With vocalist Tim Lambesis tied up in legal matters and facing up to nine years in prison with his sentence hearing scheduled to take place on May 2, As I Lay Dying fans have been left wondering about the future of the band. They’ve been quiet to this point, but have now broken their silence as the four remaining members of As I Lay Dying have taken to Instagram to answer those questions. Sort of.

Each band member has uploaded separate video clips featuring snippets of new material they have presumably recorded in Lambesis’ absence. In addition to showcasing the …

Tim Lambesis’ Wife Filing $2,000,000 Civil Suit Against Him

It’s not unknown that the As I Lay Dying frontman, Tim Lambesis, is on trial for allegedly attempting to hire a hitman to murder his estranged wife. News headlines have had his name plastered all over them for months.
