REVIEW: Handguns – Angst

Artist: Handguns
Album: Angst
Genre: Pop-Punk
Label: Pure Noise Records

Handguns is a pop punk band from Pennsylvania that kids have latched onto as oflate. I’ve seen them a few times live, and when Don’t Bite Your Tongue came out, I was really into the release, especially the song “I Hope He Kills You” (I was really bitter about stuff and the song worked). However, since that song was released, I kind of fell out of love with the band. I don’t know what it is, maybe it’s just changing tastes or wanting something more, but Handguns just haven’t really …

The new album will be coming out on September 25 on CD/LP/Digital, and will consist of 12 brand new tracks. Angst was recorded at Webster Lake Studios by Chris Curran. Debut records are always fun to hear because while EPs are good indicators into what a band is like, full-lengths are really what people look at when determining the longevity and staying power of a new group.

Handguns Tease Guest Vocalist for New Album, RUMOR: It May Be Blink-182′s Mark Hoppus

Handguns posted a studio update today teasing a guest vocalist on their new album, Angst. The band recently went on twitter and was looking around for guest vocalists, and it appears that someone was interested in helping out. While they didn’t exactly confirm in the studio update who it is, from the vocals and the way they were talking it appears to be that the singer is Mark Hoppus of Blink 182. Jake of Handguns last week only tweeted at Mark Hoppus about the record and getting guest vocals on it, so I think it’d be really safe to …

That’s a very levelheaded approach to being a pop punk band right now. Not presenting any fluff and just saying, “Look, we want to write tunes, tour and hang out with our friends.”
Exactly. We’re not like, “Oh, we’re going
