Touche Amore And Pianos Become The Teeth Split Streaming, Available For Pre-Order

Two great up and coming bands on two different labels have worked together for a split that’s short and sweet. This one will be up there with my other all time favorite split (Alexisonfire vs. Moneen will go down in history, as far as I’m concerned), but this is as good as it for ones on the shorter side.

It is available for pre-order at both Topshelf Records and at Deathwish. We streamed “Hiding” by Pianos Become The Teeth the other day, but this will be your first chance to hear “Gravity, Metaphorically” by Touche Amore. Check out …

Alexisonfire Kicked Out Of Bar After Bouncer Pushes Wade MacNeil’s Wife

Alexisonfire has gotten back for a few farewell shows this month. There’s only a handful of shows left, and then the band will be no more. Last night in Montreal, Canada, the band went to a bar. First hand reporting from guitarist and vocalist Wade MacNeil suggests the band got kicked out after reacting to a bouncer pushing his wife.

Perhaps one day Alexisonfire will play a show in Montreal and denounce the bar in front of that crowd again. We’re still hoping they’ll one day do an American farewell tour, although that ship seems to have long since sailed.…

Alexisonfire Announce ‘iTunes Originals’ On Vinyl

Alexisonfire may have one last trick up their sleeves with the release of their iTunes Originals album to be made available online and on their final Canadian tour that had already started yesterday in Vancouver. The vinyl will be pressed through AoF’s longtime label, Dine Alone Records.

Follow the jump for what’s left of the band’s final Canadian dates, and a link to Dine Alone’s web store where the vinyl will be made available to international fans at a reasonable price before it (along with the rest of AoF’s vinyl discography) will slowly but surely find it’s way onto eBay …

ALBUM STREAM: Alexisonfire – ‘Death Letter’ EP

Alexisonfire is coming to its end, much to my dismay. The Canadian post-hardcore band’s (presumed) final release is the aptly titled Death Letter EP. Dallas Green will continue on as City And Colour, with Wade MacNeil now the vocalist of Gallows.

This EP is unusual in that it’s acoustic, and is exclusively Wade and Dallas. No drums (except for one tom on “You Burn First” and some effects on “Burial”), no bass, and no screaming vocals from George Pettit. It’s oddly fitting that a band so heavy is ending on a somber, acoustic note. I will remain by …

Alexisonfire Announce New EP ‘Death Letter’

Well this is wonderful: Alexisonfire announced that they will be releasing a new EP titled ‘Death Letter’ on December 4. Featuring six new tracks, the EP will be coming out on Die Alone Records. Dallas Green (now of City and Colour fame) and the rest of the group went into the studio earlier this year to flesh out some songs, and now we’re going to finally hear what they have had to come up. Excited? You should be.

You can check out the album artwork and the track listing after the break, and you can also listen to clips from …

City And Colour Finish New Album

We previously reported that Dallas Green, aka City And Colour, was going to be in the studio recording from November 4 to November 21. Today, Dallas used Twitter to confirm that the next album was completely finished in that amount of time, and that he was looking forward to the tour with Alexisonfire. My objection? If he’s looking forward to the Alexisonfire tour so much, why not one single United States date? I guess as an American fan I’m asking too much.

See Dallas’ post for yourself here by clicking “Read more”.

City And Colour Recording Next Album

Dallas Green, aka folk artist City & Colour and guitarist/vocalist for Alexisonfire, will enter the studio on November 4 to start recording his next album. He had previously said he had the songs written and just needed to record them, and now he’s got the ball rolling. He announced it via his newly formed Instagram account, where he showed a picture of a calendar with “Recording” locked up for most of November.

This comes as a surprise, since yesterday Alexisonfire tweeted they were rehearsing for their reunion concerts. Dallas Green seems to be a busy guy. We look …

Alexisonfire Announce Opening Act, Ghost Of A Thousand Reforms

Canadian post-hardcore band Alexisonfire have their farewell tour this December, having recently added extra dates due to demand. Now, they have announced the openers for these last shows.

The surprise? UK punk band Ghost of a Thousand is reforming to open on select shows. The band said “We feel that we owe [Alexisonfire] a great deal of gratitude and wouldn’t want to turn them down and give them a proper farewell.” So it looks like a farewell to both bands in some ways, but we’ll be hoping both stay together.

One opener is yet to be announced. Could …

Alexisonfire Add Dates To Farewell Tour

Alexisonfire experienced an overwhelming demand for their upcoming farewell tour and have been forced to add more dates to their run. A change has been made to the December 20 date and will be held at the BMO Centre, Canada as well.

Please view the added touring itinerary through the jump and let UTG know if you plan on attending this emotional last tour for AOF.

STREAM/DOWNLOAD: Alexisonfire – To A Friend (Adventure Club Remix)

What’s better than one Canadian music powerhouse giving away a free song? That same Canadian powerhouse act using another great Canadian artist’s track for source material.

EDM masterminds Adventure Club are paying homage Alexisonfire this week with the release of a chillstep take on the classic, “To A Friend.” I know dubstep is probably not the first thing that comes to mind when picturing what pairs with Dallas Green’s smooth vocals, but I’ve gotta say that this track makes you view things in a whole new light. This is beautiful. Click past the jump to stream, download, and enjoy.

Two-Fifths of Alexisonfire In Studio Together

It looks like City and Colour CEO Dallas Green and Gallows frontman Wade MacNeil are working in the studio together. Green and MacNeil represent two-fifths of Canadian post-hardcore institution, Alexisonfire. Despite calling it a day last year, Alexisonfire have resurfaced to go on one proper farewell tour in celebration of a decade of making great music. Check out MacNeil’s tweets confirming his studio time with Green after the jump.

Little is known about what Green and MacNeil are up to. Could it have something to do with a final Alexisonfire release? A possible EP or Greatest Hits release? Or …
