Slayer have revealed that the cause of death for founding guitarist Jeff Hanneman was alcohol related cirrhosis. Read statements from every group member as well as details for when they will be honoring his memory.

Hanneman passed away on May 2 at the age of 49.

WATCH: Mitch Lucker’s Widow Believes Drunk Driving Killed Her Husband

We are still mourning the loss of Suicide Silence frontman Mitch Lucker and it looks like this sad story is only going to get worse. Jodie Lucker, Mitch’s widow, spoke before a crowd of fans, friends, and family at a candlelight vigil last night in California and explained her belief that the frontman’s long-standing struggle with alcohol played a role in his fatal motorcycle accident. New Details Emerge About Mitch Lucker’s Death

Police are still investigating the events that lead up to the death of Suicide Silence frontman Mitch Lucker this morning, but a new report out of Orange County, California has shed new light on the case.

According to an updated report on The Press-Enterprise, which can be read here, police have released the following information about the accident that lead to the injury which eventually took Lucker’s life:

Play Based On Amy Winehouse To Open In 2013

Fresh off the news that Nirvana may have its own musical and a sitcom named after a song by them, Amy Winehouse‘s life story is set to be made into a theatrical play in Copenhagen, Denmark. It will be titled Amy and start its run in January 2013.

The play is supposed to display the “enormous pressure a sensationalist public put on a young superstar when her problems began.” It was written by eleven separate writers, and aims to mostly be a non-fiction play. No word yet on whether her family endorses the play, nor whether …

Green Day Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong Checks Into Rehab

Following yesterday’s news of his on stage freak out, Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has reportedly checked into rehab for substance abuse. A message posted earlier today on the band’s official website reads:

Billie Joe is seeking treatment for substance abuse. We would like everyone to know that our set was not cut short by Clear Channel and to apologize to those we offended at the iHeartRadio Festival in Las Vegas. We regretfully must postpone some of our upcoming promotional appearances.

Cause of Death For Warrant’s Jani Lane

Jani Lane singer of 80′s glam rock group Warrant was found in a Los Angeles motel room on August 11. There was no specific cause of death at the time. Although he was found with a half empty of liquor and a bottle of prescription drugs. It was known that Lane did indeed suffer from drug and alcohol abuse problems.

Officials announced yesterday that he died from acute alcohol poisoning.

Tests show no illegal drugs in Amy Winehouse’s body at time of death

Recent tests have proven that singer Amy Winehouse had no illegal drugs in her system when she died. Toxicology tests showed that “alcohol was present,” but it has not yet been determined if it was the factor that contributed to her death.

Kings Of Leon urging vocalist to enter rehab

US WEEKLY is reporting today that members of Kings Of Leon are urging vocalist Caleb Followill to enter rehab for his problems with alcohol. This comes just under a week after news (and video) of the Kings leaving a Dallas show early due to Caleb not feeling well (though multiple reports are citing alcoholism/drunkeness as a factor) and only days after the group cancelled their remaining tour dates.

They are trying to get Caleb to go to rehab,” a source told the magazine. “[That's why] they ended up canceling the whole tour. He drinks like a fish.”
