Against Me! Premiere “Transgender Dysphoria Blues”

Just weeks after announcing his intention to transition from Tom Gabel to Laura Jean Grace in Rolling Stone, Against Me!’s frontman has unveiled the title track (and incredibly autobiographical) single for the band’s next album.

While no studio audio has surfaced, talk of Against Me! performing a new song on the road have been swirling since the band returned to the road post Gabel’s announcement. Against Me! Announce New Album Title

Against Me! announced at a recent live show that their new album will be titled Transgender Dysphoria Blues. For those who don’t remember or missed it, lead singer Tom Gabel (now Laura Jane Grace) came out as transgender a few weeks back, so this touring cycle is the first time she is playing under her new name. Against Me!’s Tom Gabel Comes Out As Transgender, Reveals New Name

Against Me! frontman Tom Gabel has come out a member of the transgender community and will soon begin the living his life as a woman.

News of Gabel’s decision to come out, why he’s chosen to take the name Laura Jane Grace, and what all this means for the future of Against Me! will be covered in a new interview with Rolling Stone that hits stands Friday. Against Me! Add Headlining Tour Dates

Against Me! have announced that they added four touring dates through May and June and UTG is stoked to reveal them to you all. The Icarus Line will be direct support for these shows.

These days are all figured in between their summer tour with The Cult. AM! will be playing in Nebraska on May 31, head directly over to Grand Rapids, Michigan on June 2, travel to New York on June 6 and end this run in North Carolina on June 14.

SXSW 2012 Unveils First Round Of Band Announcements

We know it is still November, but how can you not already be excited for SXSW 2012? Given our wealth of coverage at this years event, we’re hoping to make next year even bigger and by the looks of the first round of bands, so are festival organizers.

Gainesville, Florida’s Against Me! are proud to announce that they have signed a deal with Xtra Mile Recordings. Along with this, the group will release White Crosses on October 31 that is set to be released on 3xLP vinyl, 2xCD and a digital bundle.

Youth Brigade Announce 12 City Tour

California punkers Youth Brigade will be setting out on the road for a 12 city tour beginning October 27 in W. Palm Beach, Florida at Respectable Street with old school friends, The Meatmen. Other dates will include big names such as The Bouncing Souls, Against Me!, and Murder City Devils. The band will be stopping in Austin, Texas to play the Fun Fun Fun fest on November 5, joining the stage with many other bands including Slayer and The Misfits. Youth Brigade will be wrapping up the tour with two Hawaii dates supported by The Bouncing Souls.
