Brian-Marquis-2015

You Cannot Resist Brian Marquis’ New “From Boston” Video

Brian Marquis initially found his way into the national spotlight during his time with Therefore I Am. Those days have come and gone however, and now Marquis makes his living as a singer-songwriter with a record deal through Equal Vision and some of the catchiest acoustic songs you have ever heard. You may have heard the solo record he released last year, but something tells me many of you missed it. Either way, I’m fairly confident everyone will fall further in love with Marquis after witnessing his new music video.

“From Boston” is a song that is both hilarious …

Theory Of A Deadman Go Acoustic, Butcher Tove Lo’s “Habits”

Modern rock greats Theory Of A Deadman have built their career on brutally honest lyricism and catchy, damn near impossible to ignore rock melodies. Their albums are littered with tales of love and heartache, as well as the substance abuse that often follows, so it kind of makes sense that the group would attempt to cover Swedish singer Tove Lo‘s chart-topping hit about those very same topics, right?

Recently, Theory Of A Deadman attempted to satiate fans’ demand for new material by announcing the release an acoustic EP, Angel, set to hit stores on April 28 through Roadrunner …

The Illumination

The Illumination Share Lyric Video For Acoustic Version Of “A Chance To Change My Ways”

The Illumination have gone through a transformation since their debut release through InVogue Records in 2013. The group has changed from a five-piece to a three-piece, and have since decided to move from a post-hardcore sound to more of a rock sound. To give fans a little taste of their new sound, the group has released an acoustic version of their single “A Chance To Change My Ways” – which was taken from their album Departures. They teamed up with Absolutepunk to premiere the song, and you can also give it a listen below.

Frontman Rod Pires had the …

Cartel 2012

Watch Cartel Perform “Honestly” In A Live Acoustic Session

Cartel have kept themselves busy over the last 12 months, and they aren’t slowing things down in 2015. This year marks the ten-year anniversary for their debut full-length album, Chroma, so they have plenty to keep them busy. Last month they announced an anniversary tour to celebrate achievement, and now they are back with another surprise for fans.

The group sat down to record a live acoustic version of the popular single, “Honestly,” off Chroma. They teamed up with Absolutepunk to premiere the video earlier today. You can also check it out below.…

LEON-BRIDGES-COMING-HOME-VIDEO

Leon Bridges Shares “Coming Home” Mahogany Session

Fast-rising up and comer Leon Bridges is currently overseas making his first live appearances in Europe. Footage of his performances have yet to appear online, but earlier this week the Texas native visited the folks behind Mahogany Sessions to record a stripped-down version of “Coming Home” you won’t soon forget.

Set in what looks to be an abandoned building, Leon Bridges’ Mahogany Sessions appearance is one that takes place entirely in black and white. The young singer-songwriter from Dallas performs “Coming Home” with accompaniment from a saxophone and a pair of backup dancers, all of whom also appear in the …

Hail The Sun

Hail The Sun Stream Acoustic Rendition Of “Falling On Deaf Ears”

Near the end of last year, Hail The Sun released an awesome new album, titled Wake. All of the songs are pretty great, so it’s exciting to see that the band has released an acoustic rendition of one of the tracks.

They took some time to live record an acoustic version of “Falling On Deaf Ears.” The song actually sounds pretty good stripped down, and you can watch the video for it below.

If you haven’t picked up Wake yet, it’s available for purchase through iTunes.…

Sullivan

ACOUSTIC STREAM: Sullivan – “Melanoma Lullaby”

This past October Sullivan released their stellar full-length album, Heavy Is The Head. The album was their first effort since they went on hiatus almost seven years ago. Per fan request, frontman Brooks Paschal has now released an acoustic version of one of my personal favorite tracks, “Melanoma Lullaby.” It’s available to stream below.

If you haven’t listened to Heavy Is The Head yet, I would recommend checking it out then picking up a copy through either Limited Run or iTunes.…

Kanye Paul McCartney Rihanna

Rihanna, Kanye West, and Paul McCartney Just Dropped a New Song Called “FourFiveSeconds”

Out of nowhere, Rihanna, Kanye West, and Paul McCartney just dropped a new song. The track, called “FourFiveSeconds,” is three minutes of inter-tangled talent that sounds like a stripped-down studio recording, much of which is dominated by Rihanna’s soulful return to the music world. If this is the song Kanye played for radio programmers, we fully support this one getting major airplay.

“FourFiveSeconds” is much more heartfelt than the combination of the three may lead you to expect. McCartney provides the rhythm and backing music on acoustic guitar while Rihanna takes over for most of the verses, occasionally …

Tilian Streams Acoustic Version Of “A Faint Illusion” (Originally By Tides Of Man)

As many people probably know, Tilian got his start as the frontman of Tides Of Man. During his time with that group they released two full-length albums. One of the singles off their sophomore album, Dreamhouse, is titled “A Faint Illusion.” Tilian has taken some time to sit and record an acoustic version of that track, and you can stream it below.

Tilian recent released a solo EP titled Future Friends. If you haven’t picked it up yet, then you can grab it on iTunes.…

Wind In Sails Premieres “Push and Shove”

Evan Pharmakis, former guitarist/vocalist of the band Vanna, has gone full Dallas Green with his brand new project Wind In Sails.

Just like Green, he has ventured away from the heavy stuff and moved into soft acoustic solo work, and fans of City and Colour will certainly find his music pleasing to the ears. Wind In Sails is currently signed to Headphone Music, a subsidiary of Equal Vision Records and home to bands like SoCal’s Idlehands. You can check out his new single “Push and Shove” below the jump:…
