Hail The Sun

Hail The Sun Stream Acoustic Rendition Of “Falling On Deaf Ears”

Near the end of last year, Hail The Sun released an awesome new album, titled Wake. All of the songs are pretty great, so it’s exciting to see that the band has released an acoustic rendition of one of the tracks.

They took some time to live record an acoustic version of “Falling On Deaf Ears.” The song actually sounds pretty good stripped down, and you can watch the video for it below.

If you haven’t picked up Wake yet, it’s available for purchase through iTunes.…

ACOUSTIC STREAM: Sullivan – “Melanoma Lullaby”

This past October Sullivan released their stellar full-length album, Heavy Is The Head. The album was their first effort since they went on hiatus almost seven years ago. Per fan request, frontman Brooks Paschal has now released an acoustic version of one of my personal favorite tracks, “Melanoma Lullaby.” It’s available to stream below.

If you haven’t listened to Heavy Is The Head yet, I would recommend checking it out then picking up a copy through either Limited Run or iTunes.…

Kanye Paul McCartney Rihanna

Rihanna, Kanye West, and Paul McCartney Just Dropped a New Song Called “FourFiveSeconds”

Out of nowhere, Rihanna, Kanye West, and Paul McCartney just dropped a new song. The track, called “FourFiveSeconds,” is three minutes of inter-tangled talent that sounds like a stripped-down studio recording, much of which is dominated by Rihanna’s soulful return to the music world. If this is the song Kanye played for radio programmers, we fully support this one getting major airplay.

“FourFiveSeconds” is much more heartfelt than the combination of the three may lead you to expect. McCartney provides the rhythm and backing music on acoustic guitar while Rihanna takes over for most of the verses, occasionally …

Evan Pharmakis, former guitarist/vocalist of the band Vanna, has gone full Dallas Green with his brand new project Wind In Sails.

You can check out his new single “Push and Shove” below the jump:…

Eden The Cat

Eden The Cat Is The ‘Amateur’ Songwriter No One Can Resist

Every year I tell myself I am going to dedicate more time to writing about artists on the rise that no one else makes time to cover, and every year those good intentions fade before the heat of summer arrives. Though I often find myself inundated with music from unsigned artists, I’ve honestly never written about a band who sent me an unsolicited email and never contacted me again. The artists I cover tend to be those who either attempt to build a relationship with the site, were suggested to me by a friend, or – and this may piss …

LIVE REVIEW: Scott Russo (Unwritten Law) and Phil Jamieson (Grinspoon) in Melbourne, Australia (12/19/14)

Scott Russo of much loved San Diego pop-punkers Unwritten Law and Phil Jamieson of Australian alt-rock gods Grinspoon, have forged a famous friendship since meeting on the Warped Tour in 1999. This friendship, born of youthful exuberance and strengthened through the shared experience of life on the road (and all of its ups and downs), has played a crucial part in the lives and careers of both men. Tonight, some 15 years since becoming instant best friends, Russo and Jamieson took the stage together at the Corner Hotel for the Melbourne leg of their Australian dual headlining acoustic tour …

Brent Walsh Performs “Default World” In New Music Video

Brent Walsh, frontman of San Francisco’s I The Mighty, has recently released a music video for his single, “Default World.” The song comes from Walsh’s solo debut, 7, which arrived on Equal Vision Records in November.

I had the pleasure of catching an intimate performance from Walsh last night in Oakland, CA and I was absolutely blown away by his powerful singing performance. 7 is available on iTunes and I highly suggest you check it out.
