James Iha, axe slinger most famous for his time with The Smashing Pumpkins during their heyday, has been keeping himself mighty busy since he split with Billy Corgan and co.

Just don’t expect everything he does to sound even remotely Pumpkins-esque. Iha manages to split his time between a couple of different bands, including A Perfect Circle and Tinted Windows, a supergroup with members from Hanson and Cheap Trick (!!!).

Josh Freese Leaves A Perfect Circle

Yesterday on twitter, studio drummer Josh Freese (who has worked with Paramore, Devo, Sublime with Rome, and Nine Inch Nails, amongst others) announced he is no longer with A Perfect Circle. The split appears to be amiable, as there have been no signs of hard feelings between the two parties.

What makes this particularly interesting is it comes right after the announcement of some shows for APC: one in Las Vegas on December 29, and five in Australia in February and March next year.

Still no word yet on who the replacement drummer will be. Personally, let’s hope Josh …

Bud Gaugh Leaves Sublime With Rome

Sublime With Rome will now become Sublime without Bud Gaugh. On the 22nd Annual KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas Bud and the rest of the gang revealed that this would be his last show as SWR’s drummer.

This reason comes as no shock seeing as how Bud is having another kid and wants to be there with his wife. Completely understandable. The replacement drummer will be none other than Nine Inch Nails/A Perfect Circle/Weezer drummer Josh Freese.

This news comes not too long after the trio released their long-awaited debut album, Yours Truly. We wish Bud the best of luck …

Puscifer Announce Conditions of My Parole Tour

Music/comedy rock group Puscifer have revealed their first US tour plans for 2012 supporting their latest effort, Conditions of My Parole, via Puscifer Entertainment. Fronted by the imaginative Maynard James Keenan, the group never cease to amaze their fans and audience with a fantastic live performance.

Philadelphia Weekly described the band’s set as an “engaging performance with hilarious pre-recorded between-song skits featuring MJK alter-egos Major Douche and white-trash hero Billy D.”
